Here Kitty Kitty

I can't see there being much support for this poll but I figure it's worth trying to drum up support.

Would you like to see more of Kitty on Sky Poker?  Would you like to see Kitty on The Grind?  Would you like to see Kitty in the studio when Tikay and Richard are Analyst and Presenter for the evening?

Let the voting commence.

(I have kindly offered to accompany Kitty into the studio for support and I have taken her reply of LOL as a Yes)

Sadly, it will be a while before Kitty is able to appear in the Studio on a Channel 865 Show.

OFCOM impose VERY strict guidelines upon Sky Poker as to the age of those who appear on the Show, & Kitty, at 19, is a little too young I'm afraid. This is due to some technicalities of the specific Licence that Channel 865 has.

Players need to be, or look to be, 25 or above. Them's the rules I'm afraid, pah!

is it one or the other - or do you have to be 25 and look it? Because from what Rich was saying on Total Player Saturday you may have a problem with Nutters interviews lol

Embryonic i believe were his comments :)

No, you don't HAVE to be 25. But you have to look it!

    Very weird.

The Terms of the Licence that 865 wanted changed last Spring, for a variety of reasons, & it was good for the Channel overall, but it came with a few caveats, one of which was this age thing.

Which was part of the reason why "In-Poker" ended last Autumn - they were finding it increasingly dificult to find OFCOM-friendly footage. Imagine a typical Live Poker Final these days, more often than not half the players are much younger than 25, & look it. So they'd have to exclude half the Players at the Table from the footage, etc.

If they filmed a 20 year old guy actually playing poker, they'd be in serious trouble. And THAT impacted upon their filming in Vegas, too. No more filming of all or any Tables, they had to be VERY selective, & careful.

They CAN be interviewed away from the Table though, but Channel 865 have to be very careful not to be seen to be "encouraging young people" to play poker.

Which is bizarre, quite frankly, but them's the Rules, & all of the bSkyb family are very serious about compliance.

Hence Rich Orford's comments about Ben. It won't affect Ben at all, but 865 DO need ro handle the matter with some care, to avoid OFCOM-related interest.

I must stress - I am talking about the TV Channel ONLY here.  SkyPoker.com, the Online Room, is a different matter entirely. No less hidebound by Regulations & Compliance, but entirely different Regulations.  Nightmare!

I don't know the answer to that Webby, but I do know one thing - nobody messes with OFCOM.

Those monster fines that were imposed on BBC, ITV, & Channels 4 & 5  - & NOT, you note, Sky TV - for irregularities in Voting on TV Shows were bought about by OFCOM. They are serious about being serious.

    What an odd rule?

I understand how people and organisations have to promote safe gambling and protect from underage peoples involvment etc but honestly - Nanny state or what lol

I hate the fact that governments feel the need to act against grown adults doing what they like with their own hard earned cash. This is obviously seen in the ruling on card clubs - I see no reason why a business can'ttake a payment for services and equipment (in this case the rake) and allow adults to play a game for their own money without requiring a casino licence. Beggers beleif but this is probably more suited to a longer disscusion in a different thread lol

OMG!!! I cant understand this! OK when out buying drink if you look under 25 then you may be asked as that is covering the shops back and once you prove you are over 18 then its fine. But to say even if you are over 21 you still HAVE to look 25+ even with ID is just wrong. That in my eyes is some kind of ageism (I call it agelookeylikeyism) What about people like me and Ben?? We only look like teenagers, we have probably got about 10 years before we can be on a show by which time we will be 32!! (Even though I have already been on once before!). I really can't understand how this has been accepted as a rule/law. Shocking

This is tragic news, a crushing blow to the male members of Sky Poker(*).

However, it was worth posting the poll to see a picture of Kitty on the forum.

I can only imagine how many votes she will have by 2016!

    *Apologies for that. ;-)
