With Cheltenham starting today, use this thread for Cheltenham Chit Chat, what you've bet, what won/lost, "how unlucky was I?", appreciation of fine performances by horses or jockeys, & so on.
Poker players will, or should, recognize the name "Jon Kalmer", aka Skalie, who works for DTD these days & runs the cash games there. He finished 5th in the 2007 WSOP Main Event.
Likes a bet does Jon, & he tweeted a copy of his betslip this morning.
Of course, today's first race is sponsored by Sky Bet who have a fabulous & industry-leading offer which is so good many punters seem not to want to believe it.
It's a great offer, but there are plenty other good offers out there, & if you are a bit nitty, then Wm Hill are offering one fifth odds & SEVEN places on the Sky Bet Supreme. Obviously, if you take a 7 places offer, then the win part of your bet won't be at competitive odds.
The other headline price would be Bet365, who go quarter odds on the Supreme - which is excellent - & 5 places. Sadly, most of us can't get on with 365, but make no mistake, that's a great price offer.
Whatever you bet, & whoever you bet with, good luck.
A quick reminder of the headline T & C's of the Sky Bet offer on the opening race each day as there seems to be a fair bit of confusion (disbelief even?) around it;

I forgot this offer and placed a small bet.Want to put a larger bet on now due to this offer.However noticed under the terms and conditions that it only applies to your first bet.Was wondering could i cash out my smaller bet now and bet again using the max allowance.Would that still qualify,anyone know?

Very unlikely they would allow that imo. I guess you could try though.

Not all keyboards are the same, but mine is on the same key as the "@" sign.
I think Lakeview lad @20/1 in the 2.50, with skybet paying 6 places is a knocking e/w bet. On a possible 3 timer , will love the conditions/trip and despite being raised 8lb still improving.
Are you at Cheltenham Alan? What's the weather like?
Still in Staffordshire. Off to Stratford-upon-Avon shortly, then Chelts all day Wednesday. Its a bit wet everywhere today. Winds forecast tomorrow too. Could influence a few races IMO.

Nothing if not optimistic, eh?
