UKOPS Day 1 Who Won What. Good start all round.

Afternoon.

UKOPS got off to a fine start last night, & the first UKOPS Bracelet of this series was awarded to this man, not to be confused with @Donttelmum.

    We'll get the admin stuff out of the way first, then rattle though each of the 7 UKOPS events last night.

    First up, as you know, there is a Total Player Leaderboard with £6,000 in prizes - a £4,000 SPT Las Vegas package, & £2,000 in cash prizes.

    You can see the Leaderboard after Day One here;

    Good weather is the enemy of Online Poker, as is good stuff on TV & there was both yesterday, with the sun shining, & the Champions League massacre at Nou Camp on telly, so there were some long faces in the Office going into Day One.

    Poker is nothing if not unpredictable though, & here's how it panned out;

    UKOPS 01, G'tee £3,000, made £4,040.

    UKOPS 02, (PLO) G'tee £1,500, made £2,320.

    UKOPS 03 (Main), G'tee £20,000, made £19,600.

    UKOPS 04, G'tee £2,500, made £4,030.

    UKOPS 05, G'tee £5,000, made £5,000 exactly.

    UKOPS 06, G'tee £2,000, made £2,320.

    UKOPS 07, G'tee £4,000, made £4.750.

    Pretty good, huh? 6 out of 7 made, it, several with a ton to spare, & the only miss was by just 4 entries.

    Very unlikely that level can be sustained for another 6 days, but that's a great start.

    UKOPS 1, £3,000 Bounty Hunter, 7pm.

    A pleasing 202 runners for the opener, with victory going to mcg899. Does not play huge volume, but does OK, & returned a day or two ago after a few weeks away. February was good for him, winning both the Sunday Major and a £8k g'tee Main Event in the space of a week for over £4,500, & last night added another £800+ to his coffers.

    CCKeenan in 3rd is in good form, April having seen him already win 2 x £11 entry Bounty Hunters and the 7 at 7.

    It was a decent session for Bibiath too, having won a Main Event sat earlier, 5th in this & then 4th in UKOPS 07.

    @mcg899 606000 1 £542.57 + £301.46 Head Prizes 14

    @GREGGER01 0 2 £323.81 + £83.13 Head Prizes 5

    @CCKeenan 0 3 £193.11 + £106.34 Head Prizes 7

    @longjob 0 4 £151.90 + £33.75 Head Prizes 4

    @Bibiatch 0 5 £129.28 + £29.19 Head Prizes 3

    @LeeLUFC7 0 6 £108.27 + £93.38 Head Prizes 8

    The IrishRose Fan Club were gathering on the rail in the late stages as she looked like making the Final, but she fell just short, just ahead of cpfc_2010 & Gambelo.

    @IrishRose 0 9 £47.87 + £28.13 Head Prizes 3

    @cpfc_2010 0 10 £47.87 + £24.38 Head Prizes 3

    @Gambelo 0 11 £33.33 + £37.73 Head Prizes 4

    Wacko90, who is well on the way to a Vegas Package in this week's DYM challenge took time off to run 16th here, severing 6 heads along the way.

    @Wacko90 0 16 £24.24 + £50.63 Head Prizes 6

    Pleasing run by @Allan23, with the cleverly named kimdongun close behind.

    @Allan23 0 19 £22.22 + £7.50 Head Prizes 1

    @kimdongun 0 22 £20.20 + £7.50 Head Prizes 1

    Not the best of starts for MISTY4ME, who won his Vegas ticket on Sunday but is yet to break the news to Mrs Misty who does not care for aeroplane travel, or glencoelad, doubtless still counting his winnings (over £4,000) from taking down the Sunday Major 2 days ago. Think he's off to the Irish Open this week. WAL.

    Good run from TommyD, too. He'd like another good run tonight, when his beloved Spurs defend a 1 goal lead v Man City at The Ethiad. Good luck with that.....

    @MISTY4ME 0 24 £23.44 Head Prizes 2

    @glencoelad 0 25 £15 Head Prizes 2

    @TommyD 0 26 £39.38 Head Prizes 5

    Disappointing start for these boys though. Plenty of time to shine yet.

    UKOPS 2, £1,500 PLO, 7.30pm

    We don't see nearly enough of The Great Game of PLO on here or anywhere else for that matter, so it was pleasing to see this one get 86 runners and hit the Guarantee right out of the park.

    BRUTAS was in good form throughout & closed it out nicely, ahead of MYSHARKY & the very handy miniman88 in 3rd.

    Vey fine effort in 6th by MAXALLY, who is more generally a NLH player.

    @BRUTAS 464000 1 £661.20

    @MYSHARKY 0 2 £424.56

    @miniman88 0 3 £264.48

    @MrTucker 0 4 £214.60

    @jonjo75 0 5 £175.16

    @MAXALLY 0 6 £146.16

    A bunch of the usual suspects finished close up, with none other than Ambo making the very last money spot, just behind Granite 89, who won his Vegas trip on Sunday & will be bidding to win SPT Las Vegas for the 2nd time on the bounce.

    @MikeyW94 0 7 £122.96

    @MattBates 0 8 £99.76

    @Granite89 0 9 £76.56

    @RUNITSRANN 0 10 £76.56

    @NChanning 0 11 £58

    Meanwhile, in the "tailed off, never nearer" department were these two.

    @tikay1 0 64

    @StayOrGo 0 65

    I'll not bore readers here with my tales of derring do last night, but if time permits I'll try & find my old Diary later today & relate a tale or two from last night, including one of the oddest & most perplexing things anyone has ever said to me in the chat box. Nice like, but most unusual.

    UKOPS 3 £20,000 Main Event, 8pm

    Heavy hitter JMcCririck took the Main, & with it, a nice shiny UKOPS Bracelet.

    image

    Yet another fine result from Makaka, who is really making a name for himself here on Sky Poker, with the highly profitable gadgerno1 in 5th & Jessieak 6th.

    @JMcCririck 1960000 1 £2779.50 + £1317.67 Head Prizes 11

    @BHudson 0 2 £1667.70 + £67.97 Head Prizes 1

    @Makaka 0 3 £1020 + £256.39 Head Prizes 4

    @DWINCHY 0 4 £800.70 + £329.87 Head Prizes 4

    @gadgerno1 0 5 £683.40 + £464.06 Head Prizes 7

    @Jessieak 0 6 £575.28 + £100.64 Head Prizes 2

    In the nearly but not quite department were these 4, any of whom might well be in the running for the Total Player prizes.

    @MRBLEWPIE 0 11 £193.80 + £239.06 Head Prizes 5

    @kapowblamz 0 12 £193.80 + £178.13 Head Prizes 4

    @chrisdonkb 0 15 £142.80 + £292.98 Head Prizes 7

    @loololollo 0 17 £137.70 + £65.04 Head Prizes 1

    Once again, our Rose ran very deep.

    @IrishRose 0 20 £112.50 Head Prizes 3

    SoLack expressed surprise a day or two ago when I described him as "veteran", so I'd like to apologise for the unintended slur, he's only 63, so not even an OAP yet.

    Mr Channing secured his 2nd cash of the night. It's Irish Open week, & he famously won it a few years back, so maybe he'll be heading across to Dublin later this week.

    Spotted DAVEMCDAID in the runners too, not played many MTT's here this year, but he used to be a serious big hitter. Lurking just behind these was railtard11.

    @SoLack 0 28 £93.75 Head Prizes 2

    @NChanning 0 29 £37.50 Head Prizes 1

    @DAVEMCDAID 0 30 0

    @railtard11 0 32 £89.79 Head Prizes 2

    Here's Mr Channing with a rather brutal looking trophy/offensive weapon which he collected for winning the Irish Open. Think he won over a million that day, including bets with the sponsors. Much of that was then invested in Black Belt Poker, & I'm sure Neil made an absolute fortune (disappear) from that.

    UKOPS 4, £2,500 Mini, 8.30pm

    A monster field of 543 here, plus 263 rebuys, leaving the guarantee in tatters.

    I actually chatted with the winner last night & he seems an absolute gent, & with an alias like kimdongun he should maybe make a Korea out of poker.

    The consistent Kerrnal came up a spot shy, with fishhhhh (not to be confused with The_Fishhh) 3rd & the youthful sexagenarian SoLack 6th.

    @kimdongun 2418000 1 £503.75 + £84.62 Head Prizes 10

    @Kerrnal 0 2 £282.10 + £56.16 Head Prizes 11

    @fishhhhh 0 3 £166.44 + £40.95 Head Prizes 9

    @poker69 0 4 £131.98 + £50.67 Head Prizes 14

    @steveysee 0 5 £110.83 + £27.53 Head Prizes 6

    @SoLack 0 6 £89.67 + £12.12 Head Prizes 4

    Good run by these 3 all inside the top dozen....

    @BooBooTheB 0 9 £36.27 + £25.36 Head Prizes 6

    @MattBates 0 10 £27.20 + £18.41 Head Prizes 4

    @ShaunyT 0 11 £21.16 + £22.24 Head Prizes 7

    Danny was 14th, just ahead of an outlier;

    @Itsover4u 0 14 £17.93 + £23.64 Head Prizes 6

    @Essexphil 0 15 £17.93 + £17.62 Head Prizes 5

    Good week for GlencoeLad who can't stop cashing & the same goes for Allan23 for whom a big win is surely just around the corner.

    @glencoelad 0 22 £12.69 + £6.22 Head Prizes 3

    @Allan23 0 23 £12.69 + £4.04 Head Prizes 1

    Not quite so deep for Rose this time, but 5 heads pays the entry fee with change to spare.

    @IrishRose 0 85 £11.49 Head Prizes 5

    "Most Heads" was shared by these two, though quite how they both took 16 of them but could only finish 97th & 109 must reveal a change of fortune at the sharp end. Still a decent return for £5.50 though considering they finished well down the field.

    @kingkong61 0 97 £36.34 Head Prizes 16

    @Lord1111 0 109 £31.93 Head Prizes 16

    UKOPS 5, £5,000 Rebuy, 9pm

    This Rebuy exactly matched Guarantee, so will take that, as Robbie Williams might have said.

    Mean Machine GSmith made his first final of this UKOPS, but it won't be his last, with BrayCorp83 & scotty77 close up.

    @Flipper55 618000 1 £1400

    @scotty77 0 6 £265

    A 2nd cash of the series for Jessieak, Melty made an appearance, ditto ItsOver4U, with felow Crusher Group member avix close behind, as were Makaka & our friend kimdongun.

    @Jessieak 0 8 £140

    @chicknMelt 0 9 £105

    @NoEa5yCa5h 0 10 £87.50

    @Makaka 0 19 £80

    UKOPS 6, £2,000 Turbo BH, 9.30pm

    What a nice looking graph the winner has, & that translates to £26,000 of profit & a 43% ROI over 2,000 games.

    I'm not familiar with the runner-up, but he has a Sharky Gold Star & sits 3rd in the 2019 "Count" Leaderboard. I'm always worried I may mis-spell "Count".

    Life is good right now for 68Trebor, with Villa almost certainly in the play-offs & his job uncertainty sorted at last.

    @BooBooTheB 696000 1 £307.40 + £67.05 Head Prizes 4

    @LiamRynn 0 2 £183.28 + £22.03 Head Prizes 3

    @CadleyX 0 3 £110.20 + £85.57 Head Prizes 9

    @68Trebor 0 4 £87 + £18.57 Head Prizes 4

    @RUTSTER19 0 5 £73.66 + £56.68 Head Prizes 10

    @FAS 0 6 £61.48 + £34.69 Head Prizes 5

    Good to see George/Gary, aka Limp2Lose close up, ditto TheDart, & it was cash #3 for Allan23 so he must be well-pleased with his start to UKOPS.

    @Limp2Lose 0 15 £12.53 + £18.93 Head Prizes 3

    @TheDart 0 16 £12.53 + £12.19 Head Prizes 3

    @Allan23 0 17 £12.53 + £14.30 Head Prizes 3

    Out with the washing on this occasion was Groggs, but that won't fool the handicapper.

    UKOPS 7, £4,000 Turbo BH, 10pm.

    Hoff92 does very well for himself here & notched another win, whilst the runner-up only returned to Sly Poker last night after a 15 month sabbatical.

    kimpet - "psst, wanna buy a watch mate?" - was 3rd, and another cash in 4th for Bibiatch, an alias which I'm sure has a hidden meaning.

    5th was @Limp2Lose, with @StayOrGo 17th. Son 1, Dad 0.

    @Hoff92 475000 1 £676.88 + £393.25 Head Prizes 7

    @Pwinners 0 2 £434.62 + £164.36 Head Prizes 7

    @kimpet 0 3 £270.75 + £177.31 Head Prizes 5

    @Bibiatch 0 4 £219.69 + £133.60 Head Prizes 5

    @Limp2Lose 0 5 £179.31 + £97.56 Head Prizes 4

    @steveysee 0 6 £149.62 + £71.49 Head Prizes 3

    Watch out for this man during the series, proper At It Merchant.

    @lyonsbob06 0 9 £78.38 + £18.75 Head Prizes 1

    Promising prospect Peter27 is suffering a crisis of confidence right now, "can't win a flip", but it's all part of his learning experience, & he'll be fine.

    @peter27 0 13 £42.19 Head Prizes 2

    oynutter logged in late & only played 2 UKOPS affairs, but went on to collect 3rd placed money in Midnight Express later, so that's another nice profit for our man.

    When are you starting the pre Vegas tasters? It's not like you have enough to do.

    Yep - chuckled at this.

    Thanks for the write up Tikay. As mentioned at the tables I look forward to reading these even though I don't play too many MTTs usually.

    It was a pleasure chatting with you and good luck for the rest of the series if you're back at it
