Would you rather win the WSOP ME for $10mill or cash 5 random tourneys for $15 mill

Hi,

I seen what I thought was an interesting poll online last week. The poll was would you rather win the WSOP ME for $10 mill or cash in 5 random tourneys in the same year for $25 mill.

The results heavily favoured the $25 million and a lot of people said a gap of $15 million was too big.

As the WSOP update thread seems to have a few people excited about the WSOP, I was wondering if players would rather win the WSOP ME for the $10 mill and all the prestige that goes with it or cash 5 tourneys for $15 mill.

    Think the thrill of WSOP Main final table would be like nothing else imaginable.

    To be an irksome stickler:

    If we're cashing 5 random tourneys for that much they're probably going to have to be super high rollers or similar. People tend to have pretty small percentages of their own action in these affairs so the actual $$ amount we're taking home could well be higher in the Main win because we're likely to have more or all of ourselves. Not the point of the question I know, sozza :)

    there's quite a lot of bonus EV to winning the ME in terms of sponsorship, being able to get into basically any cash game you could ever wish to play. Not sure what $$ figure you can put on it, but I feel like if you wanted to use your new status to the max, it could be worth a lot. That plus just being the ME champion means i'd take the $10M

    Just noticed I forgot to vote lol.

    I think the buzz of playing the WSOP ME for the 10 days FT live on TV etc would be awesome for anyone who plays poker for fun therefore for the experience of it all I would want to win the ME.

    Normally, i would choose money over money and fame. Fame is definitely overrated.

    But it is more money than I would ever spend both ways. And the ultimate poker accolade. Got to be the ME. It would be if the other was $20mill

    Originally I was going to say $15m, for me poker is all about the money and prestige doesn't bother me.
    Then, on reflection, I reckon the +ev in sponsorship and all that comes with winning the ME would be worth way more and so voted for that instead.

    not 5 million - may of been close of x number of years during the boom years but not anymore

    I think theres more prestige to win $15m across 5 tournies than binking the main so more money and more prestige is a fairly easy choice

    I suppose as a non live, non tourny player I didn't factor in the buzz of the main even experience but I'll stick with my answer anyway

    ME win for me. you get the bracelet and the knowledge that you won the big one.
    People will call you World Champion for a year.History remembers winners. Do you really need more than $10million? Yes of course you could go out and be ultra daft and spend spend spend , but surely that figure is enough for anyone.

    Think it would have to be the main event as 10 milly is enough for the rest of my life, and the prestige of winning the big one in poker. Also would be funny to be put in the same bracket as Jamie Gold and Jerry Yang when everyone would be saying how did that donk win it. I would have my own thread on 2+2 with them all saying LOL DONKAMENTS 😂😂

    Easily the $15 million as these tournaments would still have an average win of $3million so would be major titles anyway and $5 million is a 50% increase. Sponsors don't give you that much in poker especially just for winning the ME.

    No more than 500k i'd have thought. The main bonus is being able to get into any huge high-stakes homegame (like the Robl game) or nosebleed Macau cash game because everyone wants to play with the ME winner.
