Short of Boris breaking into the Tower of London and taking a dump in the Crown Jewels,I don't see too much denying him achieving his lifelong ambition.

I don't support either candidate but what has his private life got to do with his ability to govern. Most couples have arguments but they don't have neighbours (who rightly report (in their opinion) an emergency). But then go on to phone the media to let the world know. The neighbours should've reported (if needed) then kept quiet, but no they had a hidden agenda from the start, which we can all see.

I don't support either candidate BUT ......... a 1 day prime minister BOJO with a vote of no confidence would seem poetic justice.

Public figures are held to higher standard than the rest of us.
We don't really know much about how serious this was, but domestic violence should not be ignored.
We are lead to believe that his girlfriend was screaming for him to get off her, and stuff was getting smashed.
I think that criticism of the neighbours is pointless, their politics is irrelevant, and if he and his girlfriend had not behaved in this way, the neighbours would have nothing to comment on.
I think that the electorate is entitled to be informed about the behaviour of a future Prime Minister.
Had his girlfriend suffered serious injury, then those currently criticising the neighbours, would be commending them for phoning the police to intervene.
The buck stops with Boris and his girlfriend.
I think that Boris also exacerbated the matter by refusing to comment.
Had he done so, things would probably have calmed down by now.
The fact that he hasn't, means it will probably be all over the front pages again tomorrow.
As this has had an adverse effect on the polls, as far as Boris is concerned, is proof that people do care.

I take your point. But 2 points I would make are:-
1. Every marriage has its ups and downs, and its temptations. I struggle to trust people to run a country when they seem unable to commit to one person-not once, but every single time
2. Man of the people? Hands up anyone who knows anyone called "de Pfeffel", or called "Allegra", "Petronella" or "Marina" (cars don't count)

As his personal troubles dominate the front pages for another day, the concerned expression of Boris Johnson - clasping his hand against his mouth - appears on the cover of the Metro. The paper says pressure is mounting on the Conservative leadership challenger to "come clean" about the argument that saw police officers called to the flat he shares with his girlfriend, Carrie Symonds. The Sun claims the couple were on the verge of splitting up earlier this month and have had four "explosive" rows in recent weeks, including what it calls a "huge spat" when Mr Johnson apparently got home late after a night out. The Mirror goes further - suggesting that he's mulling over a reconciliation with his estranged wife, Marina Wheeler. An unnamed source tells the paper: "This is a classic example of Boris wanting to have his cake and eat it".
The Daily Mail says Mr Johnson and Ms Symonds have now fled their south London home because anarchists are camped outside with banners, using the incident as an "excuse to protest against the Conservative party". Friends of the couple think it may be impossible for the former foreign secretary to ever return to the property in Camberwell, but insist that he has no intention of ending their relationship. "The events of the past few days have made them stronger than ever," says one source who adds: "They really shouldn't have to put up with this nonsense".
