Who won what on Tuesday

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,074

With so much really good football on the TV, plus Tuesday being £6,000 Summit night, it was always going to be a struggle to hit the numbers, & so it proved, with Prize Pools edging above Guarantees by just 6%.

Still, everything covered, so I think we'll take that as a win.

I'l spare you most of my inane ramblings this morning, as I'm rather busy what with this & that. I'm quite sure you'll cope.

    £6,000 Gold Rush (£6,150)

    As I indicated above, no time to do any research this morning, but I must make time to congratulate @68Trebor for his 3rd place. The same must be said for HAYSIE in 4th, especially as he has his plate full with Brexit, democracy, Ryanair & so on. It must be hard to be so angry with so many things at the same time.

    Brilliant response, except for,

    How do you control our borders when there will not be one in Ireland, and 450 million EU citizens have the right to travel to Ireland, and catch a bus over the border into Northern Ireland into the UK?

    Border control without borders is just a silly thought.

    The current Government are in negotiations with Australia and New Zealand over freedom of movement with them.

    Maybe just the start?

    The Labour Party voted at their conference to retain freedom of movement with the EU, after we have left.

    So good luck with your border control.

    Its not going to happen, whoever wins the election.

    Nor whether we eventually leave, or remain.

    Name anything that we are beholden to the EU for, that has affected your life in an adverse way?

    I am not even sure of what you mean?

    It sounds like something you hear down the local Wetherspoons, when youre getting your 20pence off a pint, and just repeat without knowing what it means.

    When the bloke that said it to you probably didn't know what it meant either.

    I am unsure if this was supposed to be a combination of cherry picking, and the penny and the bun. If so very well done, albeit unrealistic, as per the rest of it.

    We were never, ever, ever, in danger of losing the pound.

    Although we would have been better off with Euros since the referendum.

    At this point you usually hoist the white flag, and your backside is seen disappearing over the horizon at speed.

    Well the speed bit may be an exaggeration, but this is what you usually do at the first sight of a question.

    I hope you managed to put some of the 'HAYSIE ££millions' into Euros and $$Dollars, most shrewd people with money would have done, especially if they were planning on going abroad ;)

    W do need a border somewhere, in some form, to go ahead with Brexit, and in my humble opinion, I think the Irish Sea option is best (sorry to my Northern Irish Protestant friends, who could get a British Passports for ease of travel to and from the mainland).

    I haven't enough time to research it as thoroughly as you in your retirement, but I think our politicians and Leaders (and Civil Servants), Boris, Dominic Raab especially, George Eustice (Camborne MP and dealing with the Agriculture & Fisheries policy) and even Mr Farage, who are backing Brexit, have a very good understanding (maybe even more than you) of what's required to deliver what the majority of the population voted for in the referendum

    I probably ought to transfer this post to the November Chaos thread, but at least it ups @Tikay10 replies to his initial posts .... Silver Lining to every Cloud :)

    Hopefully everyone has already guessed ive had a few beers .. so I will just say my bit and read reply's tomorrow... the only problem with being members of the EU is freedom of movement how can anyone whether your on the leave or remain side think its a great idea that anyone and everyone can just up sticks and go to another country leaving the rest of your family behind.. with no job to go to and no accommodation only to expect to be housed and to be payed for doing so by the host nation .. to me its the wealthy in the UK and those that have ties to the EU which means there money and property and investments are tied to the EU that are the more worried .. after 3 years I believe the best course is to revoke article 50 stay as we are and then try to get freedom of movement changed from within the EU as members .. I do understand that the other members of the EU also have a problem with freedom of movement but there problem is the so called refugees and the fact that they receive more in funding than they pay into the pot so do not want to upset the hand that feeds them .. I am by nature a heartless bar steward my only concern is me and my family so my opinion is they the refugees should be turned back FULL STOP if they want to come here to the UK then do it the legal way .. so in short get rid of freedom of movement and im okay with the EU as will many others … the back stop is just bull and so is the good Friday agreement there Irish and the whole island so why are we even bothered what the **** does NI do ????? for the UK if the IRA want to kill there own people then let them .. pretty sure we can get potatoes from else where

    @nishg 2050000 1 £837.94 + £220.64 Head Prizes 5

    @BarneyIsle 0 2 £502.76 + £143.08 Head Prizes 9

    @68Trebor 0 3 £307.50 + £189.79 Head Prizes 8

    @HAYSIE 0 4 £241.39 + £185.64 Head Prizes 9

    @BrettFavre 0 5 £206.03 + £107.05 Head Prizes 8

    @cazzie58 0 6 £173.43 + £89.04 Head Prizes 4

    Going on his recent results, it certainly seems to be helping his Poker though. Must be the release valve he needs ;)

    WELL DONE Mr Hayes.
    Thank you very much.

    It is a real pity that you are such a leave voter

    I'm not ....... I just want us to control our borders, and not be beholden to the EU, but to still have close ties ..... 'The Cherry & the Bun' or as close to it as possible. We managed to keep the £pound after all. :)

    Have any refugees ever had a negative impact on you or your family? You seem to hate them so I can only assume you've really suffered on a personal level.

    You do realise that not everyone enjoying freedom of movement is looking to get a house and benefits?

    Such archaic views, really sad to read in this day and age.

    Well done to all winners last night.

    Lots of people share your views, Will.

    The first thing to do is to separate migrants from outside, and inside, the EU. The former are not relevant to whether we should be in, or out, of the EU. In either event we are free to make our own rules.

    The latter? It's only the UK that interpreted "freedom to work" this way. It was designed so that people were free to seek work throughout the EU. There is no automatic right to benefits-other countries within the EU do not allow benefits in this way.

    Think we're going to have to agree to disagree about Ireland :)
    There's Guinness and Whiskey for a start ;)
