Yeah, it seems to me like the dealer knows what's going on and tries to stop him mucking his cards. I get the sentiment (he's trying to stop confrontation) but I bet he shouldn't be touching cards like that.

Yes it's weird, the dealer immediately traps his cards when he puts them under the chips, which I presume means they have been mucked, but then turns them over, surely if he had mucked them they shouldn't be turned over? Both hands are then turned over and he has the winning hand but is obviously deemed to have mucked.
The German (I presume) was given the pot despite Roland's hand's being better.
ps as you can probably tell I have next to no live experience.
