RAKE FREE POKER

joined a competitors site recently because they had really easy 100 euro freerolls with only 100 entrants and at least half of them were "away", after grinding the tables for a bit, it was time to make my withdrawel (i didnt realise at this time it was rake free lol). and what they did was take 10% of my withdrawel for their fees.

has anyone had a similar experience?

thoughts on rake free poker?

also read on another forum skypoker may offer rakeback deals soon.....

This sounds awful, Lets say they did that here. That would mean that i enter the open and instead of paying £11 (10 + 1 for the rake) I pay £10. I then go on to win £2k in it and upon withdrawing my £2k i pay £200 for a "Processing Fee"????

I don't know what other peoples opinion on this is and i don't personally know the site but my advice is don't ever, ever, ever deposit any money here and get anything you have won off the site asap

I wouldn't trust this as far as i could throw a small cow

Really, Mr Crow, you should know that there is no such thing as "rake-free poker". Equally, there is no such thing in these "networked skins" as "ring-fenced" players money. Trust me, I know, & I can prove it.

Stick to sites you can trust, if you go chasing dreams, you will find their promises are hollow, & you'll get bitten.

The provision of poker is never free.

Well what would be the point, with respect?

Stick to reputable sites, those who don't will get fleeced. Sky Poker is reputable, & so are many others, & they all have well-known brand names.

It's easy. Avoid ANY site that offers unsustainable offers.

If a Bank offers you 10% when Bank Rate is 5%, would you accept it? Or would you say "that's not possible, it must be a scam"?

    Yup. Case proven. ;)

It's just greed that gets people into these spots, when some two-bit site says "we offer up to 100% rakeback & a $5,000 sign-up bonus", we all know it's just not possible. I bet I could name 100 poker sites that have tried this. All have gone belly-up, no surprise there, the surprise is that players fall for it time & time again.

You cannot buy a new Rolls-Royce or Bentley for £5,000, & if you do, you deserve all the grief you get!

it's not really greed to want the best deal out there. If i saw an offer for 100% rakeback and $5k sign up bonus i would definitely look into it... i wouldn't jump at it though because i would expect there to be some stringent terms, but definitely worth looking into. People say if its too good to be true then it probably is... imo thats a bit negative, this attitude may cause you to miss out on some brilliant opportunities, nothing wrong with simply enquiring into a deal etc. just have to be cautious.

    update!!!!!! upon requesting my withdrawel

    From: Support
    Subject: Multiple accounts
    Dear, *********

We care about the safety of our players, so therefore we are conducting a random check of players. During the check we noticed that you have more than one playing account, which is in violation of ***raiser rules. Please send a scanned copy of your ID with your name and also the page with your address indicated. Until we are able to verify your identity, your playing account will be closed for all poker games.

random eh? funny how it just happened to be when i made my withdrawel......
oh and i only have 1 account....
and yes i only tried this site for the freerolls, would never deposit here, oh and you can only withdraw through moneybookers, something smells fishy wishy

No, no, no. No. No no. No.

It's not negative, it's fact, based on experience. As recently as this year. And they will - can, & have - steal your deposits.

You need to bear in mind something which I think you may have not taken into account.

Most of the Sites which offer these unsustainable carrots are "regulated" in places like Belize, (where?) Mauritius, Antigua, & other such places where are completely beyond any reasonable legal jurisdiction. You have no legal redress, their offers are worthless, & then can scam you at will. And DO.

But thry keep popping up, & gullible souls keep falling for it. It's very sad, but all I can do is warn people.

Stick to reputable sites - & I'm not just saying Sky Poker, there are many. They do not offer unsustainable offers because it makes no sense, & is not do-able.

Much of Internet Poker is un-regulated.

I hope everybody understands that, but if they want to go the route you are suggesting, well gg them.

Lol, that's the extraordinary thing! Sky Poker is owned by a trusted brand like Sky, & is regulated to the hilt - & yet people still go to fly-by-night sites & are then surprised that they have been shafted!

to be fair its not unusual to request identification on the majority of sites these days (excluding sky)

there are sites which are reputable and offer better rkback deals than sky do (presently) however you have to balance this with the fact these sites dont generally attract as many recreational players and are often table after table full of grinders playing tight abc poker.

    swings and roundabouts really
