@aynaricol has been doing very well in the league of late and kept the streak up with a third place in last night's mini for a massive 38 points, jumping to first in the league. It's a shame for her that we only count one result a day at the moment, because she was also on the FT of the early Bounty Hunter with @2Geronimo. What a shame indeed.
Elsewhere, @Brrrrrrr added 30 points final tabling the Mini with @aynaricol and I grabbed a small chunk of points in the 18:30 Bounty Hunter.
It was a rather low session for most, with only one final table between the entire league, courtesy of @WAREZ. It's also nice to see @ddomo and @tomgoodun deep in the Mini.
Round of applause for @stokefc, winner of the earlier Deep Stack and recipient of a rather silly 46 points. That's one of the highest individual point totals I can remember being awarded. (The biggest I can recall is my bink of the 18:30 Bounty Hunter, which was worth 69 points. Anyone do better?) Third for @Allan23 in the Mega Stack. Not bad for a micro stakes pro past his prime.
I wonder how everyone feels about the shape of the league table at this point? Personally, I think it's brilliant to see a few people who clearly haven't been able to play every day this week remain in contention with a few big results. That was tough to do in the previous format. A few of the usual faces seem to be struggling, but I haven't had a chance to see if that's due to the format being unkind to them or if they've just had down weeks.
As a little treat, once the week is over we'll compare the final table to how it would have looked and laugh at whoever got punished the most.
Our winner this week, for the second time, is @aynaricol, who had an unnecessarily good week. 10th in the Mini Gold Rush, 3rd in the Mini Predator, and now caps the week off with a win in the £2 Bounty Hunter. A triplicate of Mini results would have been much more satisfying but this is fine too. Very well done.
In second is @johno77, who set a good pace early in the week with a win in one of the Deep Stacks but couldn't quite keep it up.
I'm going to cap this off with a nod to @AMD68, who often bothers the best performers in this league and was one of the first winners. He won the Mini Major last night, an absolutely smashing result that is sadly worth zero points in the league since it costs £11 on Sundays. Congratulations on your zero points, sir.
Winners w/c 17/05/2021
@aynaricol wins a ticket to a £33 or £22 Main Event tournament
@johno77 wins a ticket to an £11 Mini Major tournament on Sunday
@stokefc and @WAREZ win a ticket to a £5.50 Mini Main Event
could i join please (where do i find a list of games that are included)
Just to confirm, you have been added to the league. Apologies if some earlier results were missed, we're trying things a little differently this week and it has introduced some technical hurdles. You're good to go now, though. The schedule will always be on the first post of this thread.
Well done to the 4 winners. Usual drill, let me know the what & when (24 hours notice please), & I'll get the entries sorted. johno77 will be auto-entered into this Sunday's Mini Major.
An exceptional performance by @aynaricol if I may say so.

I haven't made a decision on whether we'll carry on with this scoring format or not. I am hoping to have a chance either today or tomorrow to do some sums and post some comparisons of how these results would have looked using the old way, and using some other suggested ways, that we can all argue about.
In the meantime, I'm all ears to any initial feedback that people have on how this week went.
It was really nice to see three people who aren't regular winners in the top four, as well as people like @stokefc who only posted one major result through the week but was still able to stay competitive.
I'm most impressed with that word @NOSTRI used.....
momblishness
I'm not at all sure it's a real word, but it is quite clear what it means, so it ought to be.
Thank you for noticing. It ostensibly means mumbling.
In reality, it's a ghost word, a word that is erroneously entered into a dictionary or other reference work that isn't actually in use by real people. Momblishness turned up in the dictionary after someone misspelled or mistranslated the French word for forget-me-nots in a collection of Chaucer poems.
My favourite one is "dord," which got entered into a dictionary because someone submitted "D or d" as abbreviations for density, but the letters were incorrectly combined into "dord" to create a new word. It stayed there for more than ten years before it was corrected.

The "dord" explanation is truly fabulous.
I was not previously aware of your skills in lexicography (if that's the correct term). Let's see more examples in future updates, it's really rather pleasing, especially by way of a contrast to the utter trash we so often see in chat boxes at the table.

I've seen a lot of good ideas being offered for the scoring system. Perhaps select a different one each week, announced on the Sunday. Obvs that's on the basis it doesn't cause a lot of work each week for @waller02 .
