    @dragon1964

    As if. I did not even know you were a Manics fan. Let me guess - you like S Club 7 & Steps too?

    PS - I was so nearly right with 5-0.

    Manics playing Stoke Victoria Hall £45 a ticket later this year absolutely brilliant venue with superb acoustics. Should be a great gig. Had this been 7/8 years ago I would've been first in queue for tickets but I feel they no longer have it.

    If its Welsh bands then its got to be either Stereophonics or Cerys and the boys.

    Cerys - all day, & twice on Sunday.

    Manics & Stereophonics - no thanks.

    Surprised to hear the Manics plays small town gigs these days. How the mighty have fallen.

    Stereophonics have some decent tunes, particularly off their debut album, but they can't hold a candle to the Manics and their incredible back catalogue.

    I think I'd have Feeder above Stereophonics too.
    All 3 of the above have had to plough on after having band members die, though Stuart Cable had already left the 'Phonics when he sadly passed away. You can trace his demise to a pimple on his ar$e (allegedly)

    Honourable mention for Super Furry Animals too.

    True, although before the advent of the arenas, the Victoria Hall was always on a bands British Tour.

    3,500 packed in to see, Motorhead, Girlschool, Gillan, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, UFO, Magnum, ZZ Top, Saxon, Ozzy, Slash, Sabbath, Asia, Foreigner, Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Thin Lizzy and more.

    Actually think they probably played Trentham Gardens another intimate venue.

    2800 capacity which saw Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Genesis, Deep Purple, The Who, The Jam, The Police, Thin Lizzy, Oasis, Charlatans, Beautiful South all rock the ballroom to its foundations.

    Great Nights, great gigs. At the time Stoke on Trent was a music heartland, especially for rock. Now its all about 15,000 plus and expensive shows.

    I'll give you an example. I'm off to Liverpool on 4th Oct to see what may well be the last Genesis Tour its a £130 birthday present from my kids. 40 years ago they payed Trentham on the Duke Tour possibly at the height of their fame 80/81 it cost £3.50

    I saw Emerson Lake and Palmer at Trentham Gardens back in the day.
