The Times is one of the few papers to feature something other than the football on its front page, as it previews Boris Johnson's plan for 19 July with what it calls a "health warning".
The paper says the prime minister is dropping claims that the restrictions are "irreversible".
"Is the government having a wobble over 'Freedom Day?'" asks the Spectator. Isabel Hardman wonders if the government is confident that its expectations of the public will ensure the NHS isn't overwhelmed.
The British Chambers of Commerce Director tells the Telegraph that business leaders are struggling with what it calls the
"confusing and sometimes contradictory advice".The Financial Times focuses on the different approaches taken by the different nations of the UK to lifting Covid curbs under the heading
"Kingdom disunited."The FT suggests the more cautious approaches of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are supported by scientists, but says the attention on England's so called "freedom day" may drown their health messaging.

Boris Johnson warns caution is still vital and people should 'expect' to keep wearing coverings indoors and on trains even after July 19 - with no dash back to work he Prime Minister (inset) will use a Downing Street press conference this afternoon to confirm plans to end most Covid laws next Monday, despite surging cases. But last night he said that the plan to restore our freedoms 'must come with a warning'. The PM said that cases will inevitably continue to rise as restrictions are eased, adding: 'Caution is absolutely vital, and we must all take responsibility so we don't undo our progress, ensuring we continue to protect our NHS.' The July 19 'Freedom Day' was meant to herald a return to normality but the PM will also publish new 'guidance' setting out precautions people should continue to take. Modelling by the expert group said it was realistic to expect between 100 to 200 daily fatalities across the UK at the worst of the current outbreak this autumn and 1,000 to 2,000 hospital admissions.

A coalition of 1,246 scientists and doctors came together to publish a letter in the medical journal journal The Lancet critiquing the 'unscientific' decision to push ahead with Freedom Day, which was announced by Boris Johnson last night. Members of Independent SAGE - a group of experts independent from the Government that publishes advice on the pandemic - and epidemiologists from Oxford University, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine accused ministers of failing to publish the evidence behind its strategy and insisted the scientific consensus is 'fully against its approach'. It came amid a storm of anger at the Government, with the British Medical Association (BMA) warning of the 'potentially devastating consequences' of opening up next week. BMA council chair Dr Chaand Nagpaul called the decision 'irresponsible - and frankly perilous'.
