My early years were at Gala Notts & a sort of spieler in Derby, but then I became a Luton regular for a decade or more, I really loved the Luton poker scene. We used to have self-deal in both Notts & Luton, crikey I could tell you some stories about dodgy dealing. And they say Online poker is rigged....
Anyway, I know it's been tough Online for you this year but you are up & running now & I shall be keeping an eye on your results going forward, VBOL.
@Tikay10 The Maybury in Edinburgh is self deal again like the good (bad) old days apparently due to covid but mainly brexit. They are really struggling to recruit dealers as nobody will work for minimum wage with such unsociable hours and the people that used to do it have gone back to their original countries. Was some well dodgy dealing when I started playing live at the Maybury circa mid 2000s. A work colleague who played there whispered in my ear that the dealer had a certain card eg ace of clubs and told me how he did it and also the other couple of people that did it. Armed with that knowledge I then used that to my advantage when I saw them doing it and often trapped them as I knew one of their cards. Why did I not report it? Well lets just say that these were very pleasant people but you wouldnt want to upset them Nowadays I ask to cut the deck if I suspect any dodgy dealing.
Summit went to mattprawn, & he was the 2nd of the 3 genuine friends of mine who won last night. I tend to call him boring - well he's an accountant - but he's a true mate who I'd trust to the end.
Cracking Final, including Crushy, roddy, Alexa & lolufold. I don't really know 5th placed wizardk, but maybe he's a hotshoe too.

I always enjoy these write ups, thanks Tikay for keeping them going. Your kind comments are much appreciated, if not a little disconcerting. Could you go back to being rude please?

The amount of dodgy-dealing in self-deal used to be horrendous.
And some of them could manipulate the deck. A mate of mine showed me how they did it, it was extraordinary.
So yes, in self-deal, ALWAYS insist on a (non-dealer) cutting the deck before dealing.
Well worth a watch.

That's most of my evening sorted. How extraordinary.
