You will love this, click link (my old man, rip) had a credit account, reason I remember so vivid, their HQ slap bang opposite Catford Bus Garage & Robinsons Jam Factory Bromley Road SE6
    http://turnipnet.com/guntrips/index.htm
and many more dotted all around South London from my earliest memories.
    More so;
    one and two shop high street one man bands, smoked glass fronts, names like;
    PJ Paynes Turf Accountants!
when the old man used to make me stand outside, then five minutes later emerge puffin on a woodbine, either ecstatic or despondent, when the old man had a touch, I always knew, whatever me & sis wanted in the sweet shop!
Back then 70s & 80s, if travelling towards Catford from Downham, right opposite the then Catford Bus Garage (huge) which was slap next to the Huge Robinsons Jam Factory,on the opposite side of the road

In SE9 Mottingham / Grove Park, the E Coombes shops had way best Tallulah's
(Ding Dong Dollies) might have had something to do with 'Pete' one of the senior managers did the interviews, Pete was also (of an evening) one of the two Catford Dogs main ring tic tac men, Holly Dolly's always in tow, I wish for the life of me I could remember the name of the other tic tac fella,on my girls lives,he was a really nice fella, sharp as a tack, I swear looked like George Clooney & smartest dresser you ever could meet, always immaculate, always minted,a genuine bone fide **** Craddock magnet,a few lol scraps came my way.
To the knocker, if some one said, here is ยฃ25,000 cash, but your memories erased, I politely decline, most real punters that have lived it will say the same.

    Ballinrobe 19.30 Tuesday evening
will play 0.8 points ew please, 1.6 point total bet.
    Hoss is MISS POLLY SHELBY and I been obliged at 8/1 a fifth 1 2 3 4 5

All Class winning 12/1 July 7th week ago.

Gentleman's Ameteur Riders class 6 handicap over a mile
If the going is like a Tarmac Road, I mean rock solid not sticky, horse wants it like a runway and not the Somme it ran through lto when 'switched off'
Race not for a week, think we might have one for a proper stable tickle?
Clue will be which Gentleman Ameteur Pilot they stick on it + the market.
When this yard has it on, price disintegrates
when they don't want one, about a million %

when the race below was run early 85
only, nnnnninteen years old, zero respect for monies, getting plenty.
Had my conkers on this, thought I had the game cracked.
this is how Greville Starkey didn't ride Dancing Brave a year later.
We followed the Guy Harwood horses over cliffs
    Dancing Brave was bad financially
(retrieved with plenty interest) King George & Arc Oi Oi Pat Eddery
Warning Ahnialated me! 3yo season it's seasonal debut, a, Stoute horse beat Warning first run,did my brains, even worse a long break in Ibiza was long booked for travel the next day, I had 90% of my month long holiday spending monies on Warning, cash bets 3 different shops around Leicester Square tube station, price smashed into sp? think 4/7
A horse called Doyoun beat Warning 4 lengths, Warning was 2000g ante post fav,had plenty on that as well, straight after the race Warning found to be 'ill, sick as a dog' so was misterpj
    Wind back to 85 (Spring)
    I give you;

    Fascinating read about Gunnys!

Dancing Brave at Epsom I travelled on train from Lincoln with a months wages and watched from Tattenham Corner. A very long journey home ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ข lived in the Nurses home in those days thank god for the canteen ๐Ÿ˜†.

Warning I have much happier memories of unloading on him twice as he drifted slightly in market absolutely brilliant feeling as he came into the straight on the bridLE in the QE2. Victor Chandler paying for ๐Ÿพ.

Harwood a master trainer but I preferred John Dunlop and Henry of course. Turned to jump racing around 1989 but love all of the game. Roll on King George!

Can you believe Cataldi was 10-1 fav?

I was an annual member at Town Moor in those days never ever bet the winner of the Lincoln !! Closest I have been was Star of a Gunner ( think it was 4th Richard Holder? ) but also bet I'le de Chypre who got beat but went onto win a group1!

So sort me out the winner of next year's Lincoln PLEASE ๐Ÿ˜†

    lost 7/1
    lost 7/1
    WON 5/1
    placed ew 14/1 2nd
    WON 3/1
posted as naughty bet nailed on 24 hours in advance
    RITA RANA hosed up
    placed ew 2nd 4/1
    lost 6/1
WON 13/2 (posted 25 hours in advance CIAO ADIOUS)
    lost 9/4
ante post still to run MISHRAFF 6/1 Saturday
    placed ew 10/3 2nd
    lost 13/2
WON 15/2 (25 hours in advance won doing handsprings AMALFI SALSA)
    lost 9/4
    lost 11/4
WON 15/2 (just, well by 20 lengths in France! KATPOLI)
    lost 9/1
    lost 8/1
ante post still to run Tasso 7/1 Saturday
ante post still to run Noble 8/1 Goodwood
    lost 8/1
    lost 4/1
lost Evens (the perfect example of why never bet shorties) which I rarely do, but thought it was a stone cold bonking certainty, if Ghiani rode it, different result, you can notebook it for the future and get a better price, that will fizz up in a valuable handicap from the front
So will Security Code according to Thaddy, when fit.
    placed ew 10/3 2nd
    lost 8/1
    lost 13/2
ante post still to run Lily 10/1 Goodwood
    WON 8/1 > 10/3 gamble landed SNASH
    every single bet
July 'only' stands + 6.00 points inc every ante post bet 'paid for, taken off' in the tank, Inc the 1.6 points invested on the Balinrobe buzzer going tonight.
Total of 40 individual bets, inc 5 still to run
I will be seriously mishriffed! if zero return from those 5 pokes.
    From those (35) that have run;
    won 3/1 won 8/1 won 11/2 won 5/1 won 3/1 won 13/2 won 15/2 AMALFI SALSA won 15/2 KATPOLI won 8/1 placed ew 4/1 2nd placed ew 14/1 2nd placed ew 4/1 2nd placed ew 10/3 2nd & again Benoit so unlucky placed ew 10/3 2nd (by a 33s poke)
Target for July, a, meagre minimum + 10.00 points
March April May, did my head in, June was good, could have been sensational, LUSAIL over a cliff, singles from 40/1 down, SAGA singles 16s down
those two in each way double, both second, both beat inches
150 down March April May, 290 up June, **** bent on JULY being +
To that end, my third (and final ante post Goodwood bet)
June 15th posted the below, another huge priced horse, gambled off the boards
the result (especially with the other short head seconds) near had me in bitz.
18s down to 15/2 and came there swinging.
I want this to win at Goodwood, so bad, it hurts
not for monies, not for me, for the horse & yard.
1 point win MOJO STAR, any justice, it will do just that.
Not remotely 18s,this time 1 point win 4/1.

the real deal legend the ANORAK
Mr Alan Potts who happens to have the most hilarious personal email address you could ever imagine, no, I sure not posting it
Down to Alan, someone just paid a fortune for ex French Aga Khan flat hoss, been sent to Paul Nicholls to go Novice hurdling.
Only two books ever published and he never got paid a bean for one as the publisher went bust, the title of one is 'mint'
A,few minutes of Pottsies Wisdom, fella talks so much sense,it helps an awful lot, but if you don't want to grind form & race replays, possible to 'frame' your entire betting based simply watching the field go to post.
