    Nice one on Trawlerman Paul, I managed to get 14/1 on it
  • misterpjmisterpj Member Posts: 3,302
    very good morning, one and all.
    If you want, my only & best bet of the day, here it is.
    Hottest race of the day
    Sandown 15.42 (skybet monies back if 2nd / 3rd)
    dead 8 left, each way punters kinda race, hot or not.
    And, 8/1 fifth 1 2 3 in two books at 09.50 am.
    Its the top weighted ONCE MORE FOR LUCK
    gonna get maximum saddle assistance (Benoit)
    1 point each way 8/1

    Lets see, if one can be on best behaviour, and get a real old durasic fellas punting (day) diary to convey.Puffs out cheeks, reflects on last 24 / 48 hours & week.
    extraordinary weather, my locale, last 7 days.Biblical rain & Tropical heat.
    Because of historic & severe drainage issues,a circumference of ten miles around, many places (roads) imitating a version of Thames tidal estuary,severely dangerous when driving,suddenly facing a 2 foot sea of water,same thing multiple places.Worse,much worse, exiting the northbound Hindhead tunnel A3,the volume of water 'swelling like the sea' seemed almost gravity defying,hit that at 70pmh (or faster) in the dark,you wouldn't choose to,goodness knows if that section of road got closed, it was a, horrid accident waiting to happen.
    Moving On, even yesterday, the heat & humidity quite extraordinary, 07.00 am, central heating on full 'crispy chilly' but very nice & fresh.Funny old life, weather, punting,went to one of the best value restaurants yday eve,then absorbed (all of us,men & women) in one of the best ten heavyweight 12 rounders I have ever been privalidged to see, Usyk extraordinarily talented,think of the last time the losers 'boxing stock' actually rose?
    just rewatched the bout & especially the 03.00 am press conference (link below) just watch the five minutes from exact 04.00 minutes in, very very well said
    Mr Edward Hearn,quality intelligent words.Enough of that, tis another day.
    Think on this! In ten days time, will be September 1st! 'summer'! where it go!!
    'betting' what a month.
    Been on plenty plenty punts, where price collapsed,not landed hardly one, in months.been on plenty, insane drifters, beat noses heads necks.
    Said it before, saying it again, majority of time, a, grind, when one gets a 'result' enjoy it to the maximum, you never know when you are going to get it mildly right, rarely know when spectacularly right.
    Not happened for me yet, in over 5 & 1/2 months, closest? the ew double
    Lusail 40/1 & Saga 16/1 both 2nd,both beat inches!
    When I post my bets,usually a combo of, fancy em strong on form/video study & left field lateral thinking.Said it before, saying it again,set myself mountains to climb, by posting 12 hours / 24 hours / days in advance (part ego!) much more so though, because I would be mortified, if for example one of my bets was same as, price wise / name any high profile tipster / and or tipped up on racing channel or opening show.In the future, if I give this my full attention, will have to do it 'real time' ie up to and including post a bet (s) even a minute pre off, but still including quality bets, days weeks, months! in advance.
    Saturday, concisely as I able.
    Day start, down on August, minus 7 betting points.
    Oneforsue, the E Alston horse, bet it because;
    once raced,showed ample ability its only ever lifetime run, word pre debut, from Alstons, its got ability, even bet it & posted it, here, debut at 50/1,it led a good quality field 4 & 1/2 furlongs,nominal improve, run 1 to run 2,Chester,5 runners 20/1 every sound reason for the bet.
    It got beat, lose 5 points betting a 20/1 shot.
    Jumby from hero to zero in weeks, lose 6 points betting a 15/2 shot that won like Gorytus 2 week ago, and ran Yday like I walk! painfully.
    Had 24 points bet on Ebor,
    lose 4 points combi fcast & 2 tricast
    lose 4 points Gaassee, bet at 9/1 went off 4/1 fav tailed off, stone bonking last!
    lose 7 points Euchen Glen bet at 16/1 god awful ride, really was
    Euchen Glen 'nearest finish' running on / staying on beat a short head a nose a head for 4th.* note, horse is fit & healthy,hadicap mark is 'rude'
    Goldie will win with it somewhere soon by November,let Ghiani or Hogan ride it!
    the two Marco G J Jenkins horses, went off 33s & 11s both still running, way it goes, 6 points in the ceramic thing.
    Add that up, 32 +7=39
    Franny Norton!
    Lingfield,rides winners at 10/3 & 7/2 for Mick Channon & Hughie Morrison,he was at Lingers for the two M Johnson horses, they pulled the good thing in the last out, leaving Franny on Johnsons debutent,the horse 'whispered' for days, and punted,total robbery down to a clueless ride, that track Lingfield horses need to be in certain places (lanes) to best advantage, Hogan knows exactly where, Ghiani knows exactly where,Norton last night like a friggin 7lb penalty on the horses back, threw the race away, really did,Fkn 4s On in running,done a nose,thankfully my lot all on it fivers tenners each way at top of market,quite amusing actually, me spitting venomous tacks at the ride,others delighted at thrill of monies back! bar a tiny fraction.9/2 a fifth.

    The ride Frankie gave Trawlerman was outstanding (my opinion)
    in another place, remarkably a gaggle of armchair pilots & finger tapping warriors gave Dettori stick! brain dead.
    That ride reminded me of Willie Carson at Goodwood decades ago, from memory on Bayar (wide solo under the trees) if anyone remembers that.
    Big fair play to John Gosden
    pre race live told the audience 'do not think the tack has broken'
    gave away the tactics in plaine site,Trawlerman 16/1 into 9/1 sp
    pray to God that 'tipster' I despise didn't put that up!
    easy for me to find out, don't want to at moment.
    Trawlerman;
    Bet at, 16/1 & 14/1 & 14/1 point ew point ew 2 point ew.
    Profit 71.00 betting points, less 39 = 32 points, less the one last live bet I am on.
    ten Hag tin tack 5 points at 5/1 (come on Pool, Rinse em!)
    August with huge personal punting brains deep fryed..
    Up, plus 27 betting points as we stand.
    And my Poker brain!
    Please enjoy the intended humour, and from way back, just to prove, not cherry picking from multi tabling 6 mtts at a time, as I was out on the razz, celebrating Trawlerman,not knowing I was about to watch one of the best heavyweight bouts ever,I recommend whole heartedly this resteraunt,crackerjack value.

    Do watch below, especially from 4 minutes in, if you enjoy, genuine real raw deep adrenalin filled human emotion, Mr Anthony Joshua went way up, way way up in my eyes, Mr Edward Hearn, very well said Sir, especially referencing your children, re Anthony Joshua 👏👏👏👏👏👏

    Remember that Bahri ride very well! That was due to the rain but yesterday was just mesmerising.

    Frankie was brilliant yesterday he traded at a 1000 in running albeit to just a tenner.

    As for Franny last night what a mess!

    Pleasure reading your column dude it's all about opinions and utmost respect to you.

    Ive loved punting since I was 8 and started with the Sporting Chronicle then the Life. Not a massive fan of the Racing Post you ought to get a column though it needs some humour.

    back to;
    & ps.. I scribe off cuff, dictated by mood! below inspired by a poker hand!
    05.00 am likkle poker & lotta racing / form study.
    Just the two Tungsten 22mm Arra's zoned at the 'treb' twennie.
    Remeniscent early 1980's thoughts of the broadsheet Sporting Life
    (& Chronicle & Thursday published Weekender)
    By time the choo choo pulled in Charing Cross every column inch consumed.
    Everyone I knew Poland Street Brewer Street Soho Covent Garden, all punters.
    from market traders outside Raymond Revue Bar, Ron & The Hatman
    Hatman owned a tailors,landlords (& landlady's) multiple
    on my girls lives Mr Polly,millionaire and to whom I became 'my son'
    Polly was what I wanted to be, MINTED, IMMACULATE when Polly won his staff friends all got treated (well) when Polly lost the air was peppered;
    for 5 full minutes every expletive & more, try imagine;
    broken English heavy Greek accent....
    'I never see, my flkin life' that Piggott a see you next Tuesday
    in tendem with the world's best worry beads getting fired at each other with every increasing Venom,usually, three minutes of this I couldn't surpress laughter tears any more.. I would 'crack' Polly would smile `coming for a drink, my son'?
    Almost always Yes! and the world would be good again.All that played out around Margaret Street where Polly had his clothing Empire, just off Oxford St.
    my small world then, entire world punted,except for, me personally, my other 'life'
    Nightime trade! no one punted! like my guilty secret!! music / club /bar dj.
    Ron was a, tailor, worked for Hatman who got red hot Intel, Ron had big bets for that time relevent to income,Hatman maybe twice a month bet size huge
    'we wanted the intel' Hat would get on,no drama,never shorties ever, with a strike rate to 'die for' remember so well, as every single time,I both passed on & backed em to the old man 'dad, quick, go William Hill or Ladbrokes or on the Guntrips account try get me a score ew 7/1' Rarcey Arskel'
    Paul, that can't win! really? Well Hat just had £350 ew..
    Memories can be sketchy, not this one although the horses name escapes me,this is over 35 years ago! was a very rare Saturday of leisure,on rare occasion one could be in possession of a piece of punting Intel that, can only speak for myself, made 'one' so cocky confident!
    This one of those rare occasions,was,with a punting buddy Terry,same age, gone on to be monumentally successful! I taught him! driving to shop after shop
    this is v early 80s,tinternet! jus a scratch in inventors panty.
    Horse was a hurdler,race early afternoon either bbc1 or Itv
    remember 9/2 down to 9/4 sp, as race starts Terry blurts to my old man
    (what I didn't wish him to know!) how much I had on this thing, a lot for a 19 yo in 1989,2 out its 20 lengths clear, popped the last two unextended, best bit, a neatly fold betting slip 'there are Dad' that's for you.
    August 27.6 points UP, yip flkn E.
    Brighton 16.10
    this never run the track,always a concern,then again S Williams trained M Ghiani ridden,factor in a very workable handicap mark with a Very First Time Visor.
    dead 8 run 6/1 a fifth 1 2 3 with that essential boggy,you (my world) have to bet this. I invest 1.3 betting points each way.
    I also invest 1 betting point each way a 10/1 poke
    Clairfontaine 16.18 ADJALI
    Skybet fifth odds enhanced places 1 2 3 4

    for a full 60 seconds early morning, did my best ever Mr Polly impression in over 35 years, why? Below is why! Big stack v Small stack

    Of the Roland O'Sullivan strokes relentlessly pulled at the track, back in the day!
    `pj' what the...?
    that winner, that race today.
    Take an educated Guess..
    where were the winners, prior 6 runs?
    Factor in, a Lingers class 5 CAP.
    the winner George Morland, prior 6 runs ;
    Deauville
    Lyon-Parilly

    this race is a 10 runner egg & spoon.
    my horse, my bet, never in a Million years, is it a 40/1 33/1 poke, and it still won't be a 40/1 poke if it is tailed off last.
    Why?
    The track could 'spark' this right up
    The track & trip could 'spark' this right up
    The track, trip, & first time visor could 'spark this right up'
    The track trip first time visor & first run for a new yard could 'spark this right up'
    10 runners Newcastle egg n spoon race and you can back it at 40s!
    Yes please, all day everyday, wish I could find ten exact replica bets every day!
    It left Hannons and gone to the F Harris yard, horse is Cabrakan.

    what a shame that wasn't 1m 5f rather than 1 mile 4 furlongs & 98 yards.
    1m 5f and that's another 122 yards to run,Cabrakan, how close would that have got to the winner? (very!) with another 122 yards to run.(very)!
    bet it at 40s & 33s sp 14/1 done half a length for place, monies at 33s.
    Staying On very strong
    Race reader comment that causes puntergestion;
    'nearest finish'
    bet Emaraty at 15/2 sp 13/2 a staying on 3rd (place monies)
    Shame,real shame,
    Cabrakan mine,blinding obvious what track / trip / grade it wants
    If 'no bounce'?
    for all the factors it had its favour today,won't ever be a 40/1 poke (trip/ grade) on any all weather surface, anytime soon.
    always look at an actual race, rather than 'bare result'
    Bond Power 28/1 & Gumdrop 11/1 sps 22s & 9s ran relative v good runs.
    when the Gumdrop pinged the lids & got on the bunny (led) felt we might be allright for three quarters of that race,no sort of bad run from Bond either.
    That was today, tomorrow is tomorrow!
    one bet only, nada else and it is 25/1 (5 places)

    Friday, only bet
    Skybet can have this one.

    Dyslexic or not this column rocks!

    The sheer enthusiasm shines through, as a seasoned gambler I'm in awe at your forum postings.

    Of course we don't bet them all and I lost touch with the gaff track flat meetings many moons ago, but the pluses far outweigh the minuses.

    Will be a quieter place after the November handicap but we'll done Paul.
