Where's the "select" committee hearings on all this? More people died and more damage was caused than Jan 6th. Also senior Democrat politicians (including VP Harris) set up bail funds for these thugs, so they would be back out on the street the same day.
I will never like, or rate, Donald Trump. But that article was unfair.
This is not the fault of the Republican Party. The "true face" of the Republican Party is no different from the "true face" of the Democratic Party in these respects.
Joe Biden has been one of the most effective politicians of his generation. But the key words there are "has been". He was elected President just before his 78th Birthday. And will be President until just before his 82nd birthday. Frankly, he has been elected too late. He will be remembered as a good stalwart of the Democrats for many years. But not as a good President.
There has only ever been 1 US President that has won a 2nd Term after being defeated. Grover Cleveland. In 1892.
The Republican Party has to decide on its future. Whether to go into the next election in 2024 with a man who will be older than Biden in the 2020 election. A divisive figure. One with 130 years of history against him. With clear evidence of what happens when politicians have power past their prime in Biden and Putin. To go into an election defending a man who is openly hostile to the voting system. Or to choose the future.
But exactly the same will be happening in the Democratic Party. With the slight difference in that Biden does not inspire his fans/infuriate others to quite the same extent.
Some Trump supporters are reportedly furious that Donald Trump Jr’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle was apparently paid $60,000 for a speech that lasted barely three minutes during the rally that preceded the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

Funds were raised from people, mainly small donations from hardworking poor people, supposedly to fight the "rigged" election. A very large amount of money in total.
The donations were never put into the "fighting fund", but were instead used by the multi-millionaire Trump to spend as he pleased. Like, for example, to his son's girlfriend for that speech.
I think that in American politics, there will always be vast amounts of nepotism, and money thrown at election campaigns, etc. On all sides.
What is surprising to many (not to me) is the way he can raise money from poor people for a particular cause that is dear to their hearts. And then use it for a totally different purpose.

Trump’s raising of $250m for fund that ‘did not exist’ suggests possible fraud

But the principles will be identical.
