'I'm the f***ing President': Trump tried to GRAB The Beast's steering wheel and LUNGED at Secret Service agent's throat in bid to drive to Capitol on January 6, aide Cassidy Hutchinson testifies
Donald Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of his presidential vehicle on January 6 and lunged at a Secret Service agent in the process, said Cassidy Hutchinson, the former assistant to Mark Meadows. The White House chief of staff's former top aide, just 25 years old, testified on Tuesday that Donald Trump's White House chief of staff told her that 'things could get real, real bad on January 6' just four days before the Capitol riot. Among the more explosive points of the former staffer's testimony include Trump's alleged insistence on joining his supporters at the Capitol - who he was told in advance were armed. 'I'm the effing president, take me to the Capitol now,' she said he ordered. When Secret Service refused, Hutchinson said agents told her that he lunged at the steering wheel of his car - known as The Beast. 'Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We're going back to the West Wing, we're not going to the Capitol,' Hutchinson was told Secret Service agent Richard Engel said. 'Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel,' Hutchinson recalled. Former Deputy Chief of Staff Tony Ornato 'motioned toward his clavicle,' she added, as a sign the president went for his security detail's throat. Hutchinson also told the January 6 committee that Trump was 'furious' that some of his supporters, who were armed, could not get into the official grounds of his Stop the Steal rally near the White House that directly preceded the riot.
Trump thinks announcing a 2024 run now could distract from the January 6 hearings, a report says. Some Republicans worry he could hurt them in the midterms.

Trump faces 100 YEARS behind bars if he's convicted of federal charges - including espionage - over classified documents, as sources claim outraged ex-president was blindsided by indictment
Donald Trump could face up to 100 years behind bars if convicted on all seven counts, according to ABC News. The indictment remains under seal but sources detailed its contents, and his lawyer, Jim Trusty, told CNN that all seven charges 'break out from an Espionage Act charge'. Trump, who's currently at his Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, pre-recorded a video condemning the charges before learning of them. 'Very sadly we're a nation in decline and yet they go after a very popular president,' Trump said. 'I'm an innocent man, I did nothing wrong,' he continued, vowing to 'fight this out.' In an interview with Fox News Digital, Trump also said he would 'of course' plead not guilty.
