Why would you hit a bouncer anyway?

Tried it once, didnae work oot well.
Had the quick thought to hit a few bouncers in my early twenties when feeling slighted however luckily never followed through with that plan as it would have been 1 0 to the doormen likely each time.

Was close enough years back where I sensed one was wishing to engage in a fight (was sober but verbal with him) really felt he was ready to go off. Wisely I fleed, if I was drunk quite sure I would have be KO'd.

    @Doubleme

You ain't seen nothing yet, just wait until @HAYSIE rings you, trying to sell you double glazing or a Timeshare. There's a man who does not take no for an answer.

    That's most unfair.

He does take no for an answer.
He takes it as the answer "yes"...
    Actually this is quite true.
In direct sales circles, initially getting a "no" was viewed as being quite positive.
The thinking was that at least the people you were dealing with were capable of making a decision.
Even though it was the wrong decision, as far as you were concerned.
The feeling was that it was much easier to turn a "no" into a "yes", than to do anything with a maybe.
And a maybe was really a "no".
All you then had to do was explore the reason for their "no", prove it was a misunderstanding, and happy days.
I was saying it in jest.

But you are quite right in what you say.

On a similar note, I remember the advice my Dad gave me when I was young.

If you are chatting up a girl and she goes out of her way to belittle you, that could be for all sorts of reasons.

But you will never overcome disinterest...

One of my favourite sayings from my Dad. Definitely beaten by:-

"Never hit a small bouncer. Ask yourself how he got the job." :)

And definitely don't provoke a big bouncer, especially if he happens to be ex Pro Boxer Julius Francis....

Boxer Julius Francis, who was knocked out by Mike Tyson in a 2000 bout, has lost his licence to work as a bouncer after he knocked a man out with a single punch while working the door at a venue in London.

Julius, 57, was filmed knocking a man who hurled insults at staff outside Wembley Boxpark unconscious with a single punch in an incident on June 11 that went viral.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they have dropped an investigation into the punch-up, by last night Julius told TMZ he had lost his Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.

He said: “The SIA have suspended my licence to work so I can't work at the moment, so I'm just trying to get that sorted and then hopefully back on the doors as soon as possible, get back to work as soon as possible.”

Everyone can see that Julius wasn't the instigator, it's just another case of mouthy/pushy people thinking they can do as they like without any consequences until they get what's due to them, then they start complaining about the treatment dished out. I'd love to see how these people would've coped in the 1970's when if you was in the wrong you took your punishment and just moved on. I may have outdated views but to me if you play up then you get what you deserve and believe me I've copped it on many of an occasion and I deserved it each time. Bring back the Jack Regan era at least everyone knew where they stood none of this 'Oh I've done wrong but I didn't deserve that so I'll post it to facebook' generation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InlZeTuAGcc

Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Julius Francis says he’s interested in fighting a rematch against boxing great Mike Tyson if there’s a promoter willing to put the match together.

Francis’ popularity is through the roof right now on social media after the way he dealt with an aggressive person earlier this month while on his job at BoxPark Wembley.

The 57-year-old Francis, who now works as a security guard at BoxPark Wembley, recently knocked out an aggressive person outside the building on June 12th.

Francis knocked the unruly individual with a perfectly placed right hand to the head, showing excellent power and form.

“If there is a promoter that’s willing to promote a sanctioned fight, I’m going to put it out there. I’ve never liked talking about money, but they could put up with a decent offer,” said Julius Francis to TMZ Sports when asked about a rematch with Mike Tyson.

Tyson, 55, knocked out Francis in the second round twenty-two years ago in January 2000 in Manchester, England. ‘Iron’ Mike dropped Francis twice in the first and a final time in the second round before the referee halted the destruction.

Tyson wasn’t at his best when he defeated Francis in 2000, as he’d already been beaten twice by Evander Holyfield and stopped by Buster Douglas by that point in his career. That said, Tyson still had more than enough left in the tank to destroy Francis in two rounds in front of a large crowd at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England, on January 29th, 2000.

There would be interest from British boxing fans in a rematch between Tyson and Francis right now if it happened. With Francis’ recent incident at BoxPark, this would be the time for Tyson to fight him in 2022.

“I’m going to say we can have a rematch,” Francis continued about his desire to fight Tyson. “I don’t know if anybody will watch it, but I’m going to say, yes.”

The big problem with the licensing system is that whilst it kept headbangers from getting jobs as doormen, a good thing, it has led to many venues having shirt fillers on duty.

This is fine for the venues licensing and insurance obligations but not much else. A friend of mine runs different training courses for the SIA including static guarding, C.I.T., Door Supervisors, C.P. and B.G licenses.

He reckons that of those who pass about 80% are about as useful as an anchor on a plane, and I know from experience that doormen who cant throw hands when it's needed are a liability.

Old School is sometimes the only way.

It is always a difficult balancing act.

On the 1 hand, don't want doormen who delight in punching people unnecessarily.

On the other hand, they need to be able to protect people on occasions when there is no other realistic alternative.

And there will always be people who place more weight on either 1 of those 2 things.

Absolutely and I in no way advocate violence as anything other than a very last resort.

I was trying to show though how much the process of eradicating the "violence for kicks" idiots who were prevalent in the 80s when I started out has produced a couple of generations of doorstaff who either can't or wont resort to that last option.

Suspending the license of this man just sends a message to the nobheads that they are even more untouchable.
