    The satellites are now in the Lobby. There's also an "SPT Manchester" Tab to enable easier navigation.

    @Tikay10 'SPT Manchester Tab does not currently show satellites.

    Good luck to all playing these.

    @coo1-um

    Pretty sure it does. Can you try to Untick "Hide Sats"?
  • Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,765

    So I said I thought it was 50/50 if I make Manchester or not and that I would come and play if I sat in. It makes sense because me and my GF have been debating moving up that way for some time and it would give us a chance to explore the area too. to get a feel for the area. Well I just won a seat in the sat this means double is definitely coming to the SPT!!!!!!!

    names David btw I mean might as well say because I am not going to go to SPT manchester and be like hey its me doubleme that would be weird no I use my real name in person.

    small concern the phone call it mentioned that sky staff will call to verify identity or something in tocs. This is fine Just I am still getting multiple calls from those people who are trying to sell me senior living stuff for American citizens. Despite me telling them I am UK citizen and not a pensioner. They are phoning me literally 10 times a day on average. There was one day when I had a whole day where they did not call and I was shocked but this was a random outlier.

    This raises a few questions though firstly will sky staff be calling from an international number if so I currently have call blocker on which blocks the call after two rings or so, so would need to know to turn this feature of so they can reach me. further not trying to be difficult but they likely would have to allow quite a few rings so I dont blank my phone because of these stupid calls. and finally apologies in advance if I answer the phone like Malcom Tucker from the thick of it these nuisance calls have been getting somewhat annoying. Also are there rules about the phone been on me at the SPT and it potentially going off multiple times which is likely if I last more then a few hours.

    Finally what is the rule regarding winning more sats I assume I cant just keep the £220 and I would assume this would be used for more entries? My plan was to basically keep playing the sats and this could be used for more entries if I get more but if I make it past the first day even with a short stack unless its silly like 3bb etc I think it would be a waste of money to use more entries. is it just like I can use as many entries as I like in terms of tickets or seats I win but if I am happy with just using the one entry I can keep the other entries for another SPT? if so then I should try to sat in every single night. if the second entry has to be used at manchester no ifs or buts then it does not make sense to keep playing the sats. I dont have a large poker bankroll and firing multiple bullets if I dont need to is silly. Like if it is a £10 sat plus three all in sats each day and that gets me where i get to that is fine. My bankroll works for that but if it is use it or lose it on second entry or more after that does not make sense for me to try and sat in.

    My plan is if I can save tickets after the first SPT for later SPTS try every day up until I travel up to win more sats and then I have as many entries as that gets me but I only use second or later entries if I need to if I am still in absolute not.

    Can I do that?

    i meant use later entries if I bust, If I am still in I dont. Can I do that with sats I win?

    @Doubleme

    Hi David,

    Congrats, look forward to meeting you.

    LOT of questions there, bear with me whilst I work through them.

    Firstly, "cash for sats". Be VERY careful there, you do NOT auto get cash if you have already qualified - players are entitled to win up to FOUR seats. Once you reach 4 that's another matter we can discuss if & when. But if you have won 1 seat you do NOT have the option to turn the 2nd & subsequent seats into cash in the normal manner.

    Here's what the Promo Page says;

    3. Each player is eligible to win up to a maximum of 4 seats for SPT Manchester. These can be used for Day 1a and Day 1b at a maximum of 2 per day.

    4. Any seat won through satellites not used during the SPT Manchester may be used at a future SPT event of the same value. At least one of the player's seats must be used in Manchester to be allowed to carry over any spare seats.

    What 'phone call? Ordinarily, Sky Poker do NOT phone players who win SPT seats. Please clarify.

    The staff at the Casino Reception may ask you for photo ID (Driver's Licence, Passport or whatever) but that's for Casino/UKGC Rules & is nothing to do with Sky Poker.

    "Also are there rules about the phone been on me at the SPT"

    No, other than common sense & good manners.

    It's considered very bad form to use the phone whilst actually at the table, & in most cardrooms if you use the phone whilst in a hand your hand is dead. But that apart, just about everyone has their phone at the table with them.

    Ideally, if you are at the table & receive an incoming call, good etiquette requites you to stand up & step away from the table. Sadly, it's not always enforced, & etiquette seems to have gone out of fashion.

    Just won a second seat so my plan now is to play Friday if I go through with a reasonable stack then keep my other SPT ticket for a future event. if I bust Friday I call it a day and then go and play Saturday. If I Go through with a short stack on the friday I will think it through and see how I feel about playing the sat.

    I am going to try and win two more seats to allow me two entries for each day. or hopefully save for future SPTS.

    I guess sky may email to confirm details It is not nec though My details are correct I checked. TOCs mentioned about been contacted within 14 days I am not fussed they probs want to give it a miss as I will end up talking about Russia, China is there life elsewhere in the universe etc etc.

    anyway I will try for two more tickets up until the last viable day before going up. If I win two more seats and have the max no of entries I will call it a day and just let others have more chance to win seats.

    then if I dont use the second or any more seats I win I can safe for a future SPT of my choice.

    Not necessarily, but don't worry, just turn up on the day, go to the Tourney Registration Desk & they will have your name on the list.

    Note that you will NOT be registered for the Tourney UNTIL you have registered with them at the Registration Desk on the day you choose to play.

    NB - please bring photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport ideally) as you may need these to enter the Casino.

    @Doubleme lets hope this isn't your 'doubled' account you seem awfully prefixed on your identity.

    Anyway others matters in hand, onto the nightly satellites into the SPT Semi.

    Frenzy has Ran Twice and Cancelled 7 times due to low numbers.
    Micro has run once and cancelled 8 times due to low numbers.
    Micro to QTR has run 7 times and Cancelled twice
    All in sats, numbers good.
    Quarter, gets to guarantee.

    My recollection of the last round for SPT Glasgow the ratio for the cancelled to games played in each of these were similar, therefore surely it would make more sense to run 1 direct micro and 5no Micro to QTR nightly this should in turn push up the number of qualifiers into the Quarter and consequently into the semi, then live venue seats.

    Just wondered if anyone actually sat back and looked at these things.

    I think i know the answer. poker points, game history, ect.

    hey just wanted to check is this the correct casino? address and everything else.

    If so I notice that the dress code is smart casual does that mean I wont be allowed in If come in a hoody and trackys? Normally when I play live poker my dress code is hoody baseball cap my indoor sunglasses trackies and trainers.

    My trainers are a bit scruffy but its either those or the ultra shiny black ones there is no others and I am not buying new shoes just for this casino.

    I obviously didnt want to be turned away because they dont approve of my dress code etc.

    @Doubleme

    That's the right Casino, yes.

    "hoody baseball cap my indoor sunglasses trackies and trainers."

    Everything fine there except, possibly, the trackies. I'd give them a ring if I were you. They are not overly strict, just common sense, but I'm not sure I can recall players showing up wearing trackies.

    I did phone women seemed to think trackies are okay if they are smart, never heard of smart trackies. I want to be comfortable there and I am more comfortable in trackies so I will wear my plain trackies maybe. I am thinking I will just bring a bag with a spare change of clothes in it. That way I am covered provided there is somewhere near by to change.

    I am assuming I can get there a bit early and sort registration out early which gives me some time if there is any problem already confirmed they have a cloak room which could take my bag.

    I need to sort out/work out transport to and from the casino We are staying with some friends of my girlfriend who live in preston nearby. Not sure how viable getting back at night will be.

    Just won my third seat tonight so got three bullets just got to get one more not sure what happens if I win more then 4 but I probs stop when I got four anyway.

    The Casino is open Noon until 6am daily, so yes, you can arrive early, although the Tourney Registration Desk does not open until an hour or two before start time.

    I suppose it depends what you mean by "nearby". Preston is around 30 to 35 miles from Manchester.

    All relative I suppose
