No plans to change anything in mini-budget, UK minister says
"The prime minister and the chancellor are absolutely determined to stick to the growth plan, to stick to the changes they outlined," Hands told LBC Radio following reports that the new government could reverse some parts of the fiscal plan it laid out last month.
LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's trade department minister Greg Hands said on Friday there were "absolutely no plans to change anything" when asked about the government's mini-budget. "There are absolutely no plans to change anything."
I really can't see how Liz Truss is going to be able to pass this off as Kwasi Kwarteng's fault.
They were so "hand in hand" with these policies, that if she doesn't jump under the same bus, then surely she'll be pushed.
A lot of Tory MPs have no way of keeping their jobs past the next election under Liz Truss. Their only chance is to replace her, and hope a new leader can dramatically turn around their fortunes in the next 18 months.
They'll also surely be looking at a system that allowed around 80k members choose their leader.
How can she blame The Chancellor? These were her policies, as per the leadership campaign. Policies that were described by Rishi Sunak as recklessly irresponsible, and fairy tale economics. When she was in the sh1t for leaving Rishi supporters out in the cold, she promoted one of them. Guy Hands. He was sent out this morning to defend her policies, but came unstuck, as per the video above.
Second shortest serving Chancellor in history, but at least he is alive. The shortest, who was Iain Macleod, and lasted 30 days, wasnt.
Who is the shortest-serving chancellor? Mr Kwarteng was in the job for just 38 days – he was appointed on September 6 – but he is not the shortest-serving Chancellor. The shortest-serving Chancellor was Iain Macleod, who died in office in 1970 after being in charge of the Treasury for 30 days.
Jeremy Hunt is the replacement. 4th Chancellor this year.
In her speech she said that Jeremy Hunt agrees with her policies. It is strange she should say that as the last Chancellor was sacked for exactly that.

Kwarteng out as chancellor
Kwasi Kwarteng is no longer chancellor, the BBC understands.
Don't see any way Truss survives this.

Has to be "when" not "if".
