There are 5 armoured cars regularly used in the UK.
2 BMWs, the Jag, a Range Rover and a Land Rover. 3 of those 5 are made in Britain.
The Jaguar is hopelessly out of date-it is 12 years old. Out of date before we left the EU. No idea why the BMW is the "only one" that meets the requirements. But then, of course, we don't know what the requirements were. Been using them since we left the EU I see.
I suspect the requirement was "I'd like a BMW, please".
In part, because Jags and Rovers have not had comparable investment for many years. Both before we left the EU. And after.
Funny how you believe politicians lie except when you are agreeing with them...
It's so convenient to blame Brexit for everything. No need to let the facts get in the way.
Firstly, I dont believe that everything is down to Brexit. Secondly, I merely said I could see the point that they were making. Thirdly, I dont think politicians lie all the time, just most of the time. Fourthly, Happy Christmas.
It just annoys me when people use Brexit as an excuse for failure in this country. In exactly the same way as Brexiteers wrongly blamed the EU.
The 2030 ban on new petrol/diesel car sales means that all car manufacturers are looking elsewhere going forward. Quite why we have chosen to do this while the rest of the World has not baffles me.
Agree about politicians. Although (as I have said before) it is more of a reflection on the Electorate (rather than Labour) that they refuse to say anything about the EU and our relationship going forward.
Leaving the EU was always going to be bad from an economic perspective. However, there are other benefits of solely governing ourselves. We are just not seeing any because we have a Government whose only ideas are profoundly negative.
I don't always agree with what you say (though I do agree with most). But I always enjoy reading your posts.

Happy Christmas. And a Prosperous New Year.
I dont disagree with that many of yours, and do respect your opinion. It is also handy to have a legal authority on the forum. Our prosperous New Year will hopefully start today with the UKOPS.
we never really left im afraid , we just changed the people that rule us , from unelected buracrates in brussels to WEF and WHO and bill gates . its still people making decisions who you didnt elect . and also if you hadnt noticed we are just following agenda 20/30 you will own nothing and be happy

We have left, because we are no longer members. We havent changed the people in charge as the Tories have been in power since 2010. MEPs are elected. Not sure how Bill Gates affects my life, you will have to explain. I have no interest in wrestling. Silly me, I thought the Government that we did elect, makes decisions for us. I do own things. I am happy.
For the 2nd time recently, I find myself defending the actions of this Government.
Cleverly wanted to meet the Northern Ireland politicians of all major Parties in Northern Ireland. To see what consensus there could be, particularly in view of the DUP being awkward.
The DUP (for once) respond positively. So Sinn Fein decide to take their turn being awkward to prevent progress.
No-one is suggesting the Irish leader of Sinn Fein won't be involved in the process. Of course she will. It's just that this meeting invited the Northern Ireland leader of Sinn Fein. Who refused to turn up.
Surely the people of Northern Ireland deserve leaders of both the DUP and Sinn Fein who can put the needs of the people of NI ahead of their own petty squabbles?

All of them need to get their act together over there. I couldnt back our Government on this. Varadker is probably a much better negotiator than Cleverly. Cleverlys actions ensured that Sinn Fein didnt turn up. You can argue the rights and wrongs of McDonald being invited until the cows come home. Surely the priority was for all parties to turn up. If an invitation for McDonald, and O'Neill, would have allowed this to happen then why not? Being inflexible didnt get us anywhere. I dont think you can say Cleverly did the right thing, when Sinn Fein didnt turn up.

Warning that EU and UK not close to protocol deal as political talks take place
