I spent a few days in hospital with my son recently (he's fine), but it did reiterate a number of things I already know about the NHS. Mostly that there are bottlenecks in the system, the GP service is a big problem and they don't use tech enough. But the care, compassion and expertise of staff was excellent.
The GPs are in a mess. My mum got off the bus recently with heart palpitations. She walked into the GP surgery and asked if somebody could check her out. They told her they were fully booked for the day and she should call an ambulance if she thought it was urgent. They also missed my sons infection turning into pneumonia after deciding over the phone that we needed to just see off the infection.
PS: the Daily Express fawning over Kate on their front pages is just weird.
