As much as I appreciated and enjoyed the private tournament put on by SkyPoker at the Venetian last year, I was also in the WSOP cardroom for Day 2 of the Million Dollar Bounty tournament (also a $1000 buy-in event). The buzz in the room was electric as the mystery bounties were pulled out and I think I'd prefer the option of entry into that kind of event if I was fortunate enough to make another trip.
Dave & I railled last years SPT in the Venetian, and it looked like any other small tournament in any other poker room, with a small amount of Sky signage. Contrast this to all the major events going on in all the major casinos and the WSOP to boot, there's only one way to go here.
As Tikay will tell you there's nothing like the buzz you get from playing a WSOP event, and there are many events that cost $1,000 or less. Take it from someone who knows, every recreational player like me dreams of playing in the World Series, and this could be our only way of achieving this.
Just to remind everyone, at present Sky Poker are not able to qualify players into WSOP events. I'm not entirely sure why but I assume it's a licencing issue.

That's been the case for many years. Was true the last time I qualified for a WSOP event via Sky, when Sky handed the cash to me (and all the others) on the way to the Rio.
Sorry as I am not wishing to put a dampener on proceedings but this years WSOP runs from May 30th until July 18th so anyone wishing to play the WSOP would have to go much earlier than the dates announced by Sky Poker. Below are the dates
2023 54TH ANNUAL WORLD SERIES OF POKER SCHEDULE TUESDAY, MAY 30, 2023 TO TUESDAY, JULY 18, 2023
HORSESHOE / PARIS LAS VEGAS 3645 S LAS VEGAS BLVD / 3655 S LAS VEGAS BLVD LAS VEGAS, NV USA
Private Sky tournament - I'm a recreational player
played in many tournies in vegas in various casinos, dont want to dissapoint anyone, but most times its not the great experiance that you expect [especially the lower stake buy ins like $1k events} they play like a £20 buy in game down your local casino. for a friendly atmosphere and a good well structured game its better to keep it to a sky private game imo
Private Sky tournament - I'm a recreational player
plus the fact ,everyone on here has got a good chance of winning/cashing in a sky private game with about 50/60 players ,and even if they dont ,they can have a bit of banter at the tables with people that they know,in a big vegas tournie with maybe a couple of thousand runners, you are just one player amongst thousands.

But for me the thrill of playing a WSOP tournament makes that the better option
