I was thinking maybe sky were trying to get back as many points as possible before their launch of `what we can do with them` but then I thought, they wouyldnt dare, as people who had say 14k points who played that tourney every day for say 2 weeks would go mental when they found out a better deal was round the corner.
I`m not one for poker clothing or anything, but I do find it strange that sky havent opened up a merchandise shop, which quite a few ppl seem to want and is essentially advertising.
Lol benny, everywhere you go you cause carnage, it is always funny and i love it mate, but I think asking for someones resignation is a bit much. Managers are taught to stop the buck at themselves, but Im pretty sure the buck doesnt stop with Bernie, or at least I hope it wouldnt.

I have been observing this thread since it started, but decided to let it run its course and allow as many people as possible to add their views before responding.
Rich made it quite clear early on in the thread that last night's tournament was being used by me to trial a tournament format, and as always if some or none of the players wish to play in it at the points value attributed to it to enter, that is purely their decision to make. If none decide to do so then I do not achieve my goal, but hey, I can live with that. But as the old saying goes; the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and 50 players chose to play.
In terms of points and the value of them, this has been covered off by other players within the thread, both pre cash for points and post, which you have chosen to ignore. As pointed out, pre cash for points the points earned by players had no monetary value and where purely a means by which players could play in Freerolls. I acknowledge that this led in quite a few cases of players accumulating a lot of points which they never used. At no time have we stated or attributed any cash value to these points.
After we conducted a review we then chose to reward players on a monthly basis via our cash for points promotion, whereby if you earn x points in a month these points can be swapped for a cash bonus, with the points being removed from the players account at the end of each month. This still allows the players to use the points they have earned that month to play Freerolls during the same month; and if they have spent the points, we still pay the bonus but do not deduct the any points. Any points left over in the month after the cash for points ones have been deducted do not have a cash value other than to be used to buy into Freerolls.
It is therefore down to each individual player as to whether they see any value in using their points in playing any of the points tournaments on offer from a personal point of view, with regards the opportunity to win some, albeit small amount of money, and probably more importantly have a good game of poker for a couple of hours with no cash outlay.
We are also, as Des referred to in another thread, looking at an idea to allow all players the opportunity to use up some of the points they have outstanding, but this will not be run for a couple of months, but will hopefully been seen as an extra reward by some players and not others, but we cannot please everyone all of the time. All players are free to air their views and choose whether to get involved in what’s offered or not. That’s what’s called a democracy, and if a player decides not to play at least give us some credit for trying, as the easy option is not to do anything, and the hard one is to try knowing we will get flack from some players as in this case.

I dont have time to go into all the things you and Skypoker promise just to keep players hanging on, with the use of the phrases, "watch this space" or, "in a couple of months" !! ...
It's quite obvious from not only myself but many many others of the long standing customers from the past, now use Skypoker as a 'second' or 'third' poker site ..!
Many reasons, being the lose of TV tournaments,... the use of this forum by Sky marketing to promote , Casino games, Bingo, Slots, and all the other forms of gambling that only encourage players of poker to lose at the casino games..
Of course you and others could say, "dont play here then, or use the forum", but all my posts are either customer orinetated, or light hearted as in the 'x files'...
My motives are to help players or have a laugh with them !!
I know in the past you have helped many people with this site, and some promotions are excellent, but this last six months has in my opinion gone down hill fast ... I believe it's you the management that should look closely at what you are doing, and not taking the 'micky' with this 1000pt for 100 ponds tournament .. If thats your best idea , then you should consider others opinions outside you own staff and listen to what your customers are saying !

i respect the fact that you have tried somethig. the way me and other players see this is how much rake/fees we have payed for these points, although it is not possible to work out how much rake was payed in cash games it is through mtt/stt. £10+£1 mtt gets you 10 points. to get 1000 points i would of payed £100 in rake/fees and you offer me a £2 seat for this, this is far from reasonable. why cant you offer these tourneys on the same percentage as the current cash for points? i play 6x 100nl tables for 3/4 hours a night, from this point onwards i will stop playing when i hit my target, i have 18500 points this month and will stop playing when i hit 20k. i wont be able to hit 24k as not enough time. their is no point in me playing till i hit 22k points as i will be paying all that extra rake for the 2k points but will get nothing back apart from a 2% RB mtt entry. the other option is change the payout of cash for points so there is no surplus points. the points i already have in my account, i will wait and see what comes in a few months.
Personally I enjoyed the game.... OK, the value wasn't that great, but it was nice to play a properly structured tourney instead of the usual massive field donkaments. More tourneys like these please, Bernie. Just make the buy in a bit smaller next time eh ;o) Posted by KnackersYa

the tourny wa shocking but it was deep stack, i love deep stacks dont get me wrong but it means your going to have to play 3 hours minimum to win 30 quid
