ive been floating around the forum, am i correct in thinking they are shutting the forum down with the switch to the new software?
ive not been on discord for a while, been thinking it would probly be a good idea to set up a sticky thread telling folks how to join the unoffical sky server......
anyway thats probly too much thinking from me for today, so here a couple of proper vibes;
I often wonder just how big Sham 69 could have been had the constant violence at their gigs not forced Jimmy into calling it quits.
I know they weren't everybodys cup of tea but I liked them
Exactly this.
Sadly, the violence was often directed at Sham 69 at their gigs-their political leanings were Left Wing, and a lot of their fans Far Right. Skinheads have traditionally comprised of all shades of politics-but in the late 70's there was a movement objecting to that
Their best song? For me it is Britain's answer to Saturday Night Fever

Which reminded me that 1 of their former members is quite possibly the greatest vocalist this country has ever produced. Not just me who thinks that-the likes of Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and Elton John rate him as one of the very best. Paul Carrack.
Often at his happiest playing keyboards. Which he has done for pretty much everyone, from Clapton, Elton, Ringo Starr, Roxy Music, even Madness.
1 each from the 1970s/80s and 90s. Even @Tikay10 will like these

These isles have thrown up some brilliantly talented people.

Good shout on Paul Carrack. Love everything he does. VERY talented musician, singer & songwriter.
Rather oddly - because I always loved their stuff - I never knew until you wrote that post that he was a member of Squeeze.
Squeeze had so many lads who later went on to be huge musical talents, ditto The Housemartins.
