First post on this thread so don't be too hash When it comes to music I'm very much stuck in the past and hardly ever listen to current music but every now and then some thing catches my ear whilst flicking through the music channels. I came across these two recently and this is about as up to date as I get but it proves to me that there are some decent performers out there.
A great sounding voice with a decent guitar break.
Fay Fife (such a great name for those who need an explanation, 'fae' is the equivalent of 'from', and she is from Fife) who was the lead singer with the Rezillos is now in a band called 'The Countess of Fife' who play alternative country music
Another distinctive voice that tells how she turned her life around.
Kacey is the real deal. Her first album is really good (Same Trailer Different Park), and if you find some live performances from that era it shows just how good she is. Did Austin City Limits when promoting that album. She's one who can actually do it properly live.

I thought she was a newcomer as I'd never heard of her but checking her out she's been around for a while, she has a great voice.
Huddie William "Lead Belly" Ledbetter (1888-1949). Most of us know the name. And don't believe we know any of his songs. But we do.
This is a man that inspired both Bob Dylan and the Beatles. George Harrison once said that, without this man, the Beatles would never have existed.
3 songs. I've put the covers on here, but his versions are readily available. All either written by, or popularised by him. And people of most ages know these songs:-
few tracks to catch up on, good to see you have been busy! i got a barry new track for you, from one of the founding members of the Velvet Underground, welsh man john cale;
