Definitely not a politician, they are fast becoming the lowest of the low and I wouldn't trust most of them as far as I could throw them. I have worked **** hard for 35 years, saved and invested wisely to be as 'lucky' as I am.;)

Not wanting to put a downer on things , but, I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t be feeding birds bread.
It doesn’t give them any nutritional value at all. Seeds, some nuts, insects are the best thing you can feed them. If putting water out shallow bowls are best.
We get swallows and swifts around here , they nest in people’s lofts, unfortunately more and more lofts are being turned into extra rooms cutting down the available spots. Just down the road we have a piece of woodland where bat boxes have been put up by the local council and there is a thriving colony that you can occasionally see down our road of an evening.

Agree, it's the same as people feeding bread to Ducks, it's no good for them.

    Morning Nick,

Quite a contentious topic this. Feeding bread to birds is 100% fine, as long as it's only part of a properly balanced food table.

My birds get meal worm, wild bird seed, suet/fat balls, peanuts & seeded bread, all in sensible quantities.

    Here's what the RSPB say;

All types of bread can be digested by birds, but ideally it should only be just one component in a varied diet. Bread does not contain the necessary protein and fat birds need from their diet, and so it can act as an empty filler. Although bread isn't harmful to birds, try not to offer it in large quantities, since its nutritional value is relatively low. A bird that is on a diet of predominantly, or only bread, can suffer from serious vitamin deficiencies, or starve.

Agree with the above, the problem comes at the local pond for example where everyone takes the kids and a loaf of cheap white bread at the weekend and it becomes the main source of food, leading to fat, unhealthy birdlife.

    Hi Tony,
Happy to have that cleared up, I was obviously misinformed.
It sounds like your local flocks have a superb buffet of treats provided by yourself, should bring a wealth of different species for you to observe. Pot of tea, plenty of biscuits and a good pair of binoculars will provide a great morning/afternoon’s entertainment .
Are you off to Vegas with the Sky group? If so , have a fabulous time, hope to read about your exploits at Orleans and the Horseshoe four card tables. Not envious not one bit 😢😢😢 .
Really looking forward to seeing you and everyone at the next SPT. It’s been way too long for me.

    Hi Nick,

Yes, I head off 3 weeks today.

Not sure what MTT's I'll be able to find but if all else fails I'll play Cash at The Orleans. I really like The Orleans.

Next SPT is Manchester in September, look forward to seeing you mate.

Since originally posting this last year I see the guarantees again continue to slide with the 18.30 B/H going from £1k guaranteed to £800 and the half 9 B/H going from £1k a few years ago to £500 then £400 now its at £300 :(

Last week the 18:30 paid out over £1,000 for 6 days last week and just under for one day, so even though the Guarantee dropped, the numbers still turned up and the prize money generated is still averaging over £1k, so its not actually doom and gloom.

The only way you are going to increase numbers nowadays is with a modern marketing approach. Uk target based instagram adds. Given streamers incentive to play on the site and in turn advertise it etc.

It’s tough to choose sky if you are looking to play let’s say 20 tables as you average buyin will be pretty low for a serious grinder.

However there is lots to like about sky and the great promotions they run for people etc. and most importantly Tikay and the way he conducts himself and helps people with problems… you just won’t get that elsewhere.

The biggest issues are regs at heads up tables etc who just refuse action, it would be great to have a zoom style poker system for this but we know that sort of money / change won’t be implemented.

The best hope was for the sky player pool to be moved separately over to the stars software

    Pretty much this.

Sky are clearly allowing a gradual managed decline. I don't mean that as a criticism. It is just working to a Budget

Pretty much every other Poker site is spending considerably more money on advertising-but still experiencing similar rates of decline.

Which probably means Tikay single-handedly is the equivalent of a major marketing budget.

But we already knew that. And, to be fair, I'm sure Sky appreciate that, too.

For sure could run some incentive to get people streaming and start flooding twitch / YouTube with sky players

Tikay is awesome at helping and Sky do great promos, so don't mind budget is not used for bigger marketing, no where else you will get nice raffle type draws where anyone would get a chance to win a package to Vegas for just getting a few points or the huge Freeolls that are run at the start of the year.
Most players who pump volume will be playing on several sites at the same time anyway.
Rather they don't spend money on software too and give it back to the community.
I play on 10 sites presently and still prefer Sky as my now main site so am aware of other sites functions and promos.
