    - Positional Play
90%. Position is all important & much ignored.

    - Starting Hand Selection      40%. Am too tight.

    - Note making                       0%. I don't do it, except in my mind.

    - Reads/Instincts                   0%. I thought it was 5% until I watched DanTB10.

    - Aggression
                      0%. As if.

    - Ability                               Probably best to pass on that.

    - Bankroll Management          100%. NOTHING is more important imho.

    - Table Selection                    5%. Unless a known hotpot is seated, I don't do it.

    - Discipline                           90% usually, but I have "non-disciplined" nights sometimes.

    - Patience                                   100%. Probably TOO patient.

    - Overall                              50%. I "get by", & have not had to
deposit Online for 5 years. I wil never lose money playing poker over the long-term. Nor will I make any significant money.

My honest assessment is as follows :-

    1. Position = 80/100  (Very rare play pots OOP, so good understanding, Fav. position Doggy Style)

    2. Starting Hands = 78/100  (Only play the top 20 SH, Very tight plr)

    3. Notes = 5/100  (Something i rarely do, Sorry !)

    4. Reads/Instincts = 60/100  (If im sat at a table with same plrs for 20 mins can usually work out good/weak plrs)

    5. Aggression = 60/100  (Not overly aggro, but know when to change gears in MTT/STT, the wife may disagree lol)

    6. Ability = 65/100  (Not one of the best plrs on site, but there are worse, i think)

    7. BRM = 95/100  (Defo my strong point, never lose more than i can afford, dont think ive ever lost more than 2% of my BR in one night)

    8. Table Selection = 30/100  (Usually just sit down and play without a care in the world, not good lol)

    9. Discipline = 80/100  (Know when im tilting, turn the PC off rapid, was not always the case tho)

    10. Patience = 85/100  (Have this in bucket loads, nudge, nudge, prefer Texas Hold Em tho lol)

    11. Overall = 63.8/100  (Definately room for improvement, which im working on lol, that better TK)

    - Positional Play - 60, I know its important but have moments of weakness
    - Starting Hand Selection - 65, Can sometimes play silly hands out of position
    - Note making - 10, dont tend to do it but only put general if I do, people can change thats my reason for it.
    - Reads/Instincts - 50, depends on the day sometimes brilliant sometimes useless
    - Aggression - 75, sometimes I have too much but I am never passive
    - Ability - 60, need to improve, but am constantly working on improving my play especially post flop
    - Bankroll Management - 90, normally its good I do take BR management very seriously but have in the past have had moments of weaknesses where I have blown a good percentage of my bankroll
    - Table Selection - 50, dont tend to use it although can check average pot to try and find looser players
    - Discipline - 70, is improving all the time, is now normally good these days, always working to keep my cool during a bad run and not get frustrated and tilt.
    - Patience - 75, When at my best I can be patient and and play well, look for spots and get money in good, but sometimes get very frustrated and play very very loose. Working really hard to stop that
    - Overall - 55, average player I feel but lots of room for improvement and am improving all the time

I don't think you can pluck a figure out of the air for "overall", surely it's an average of the components?

In which case, you are 63.8%, not 65%. Unless my maths skills have deserted me. ;)

Nah coz some categories are more valuable than others. So an average wouldn't be a true reflection I dont think....

Average would be a true reflection if all the categories/skills were as valuable as eachother - which as I said in the other thread, I don't think they are.....

(Have I just said the same thing twice? hahah sorry Im in a tournament - Ill leave it tho it made me laugh:)

    - Aggression = 10/100 although I got a book to help me now, if only I could read
    - Ability = 7.5/100
    - Bankroll Management = what?
    - Table Selection = 0/100 don't play cash

Fair point - I think a "weighted average" is correct, as you suggest.

But marking yourself overall is fraught with the danger of exaggarated self-belief, as we can see already.  Basically, anyone who thinks they are very good is probably.....err, well, you know.

On reflection, my suggestion of a crude average was wrong. A weighted average would be better, but it's not really practical, or do-able.

    - Positional Play = 70/100 - I am learning all the time but button raises with air are growing on me
    - Starting Hand Selection = 60/100 Being mostly a MTT player, this changes the deeper you go
    - Note making =5/100 - just started using this and doesn't really help me much as in MTT it is more about situations
    - Reads/Instincts = 65/100 - still working on this but even if you have read your OP for a weak ace, you can still get outdrawn even if you are 95% certain you are going in ahead.
    - Aggression =45/100 - this is something I really need to work at but after watching the likes of DOH and any other of the TP ers, I am definitely improving in this area
    - Ability = 30/100 - this hopefully will increase over time
    - Bankroll Management = 5/100 - Done my BR in a couple of times but have only put £10 in so far this year!
    - Table Selection = 0/100 - this is mainly for cash players?
    - Discipline = 40/100
    - Patience = 80/100 - learning to be Patient in early part of MTT, then change gears after the 1st or hopefully the 2nd hours
    - Overall = 51/100 - slightly better than 50%......at the moment

    - Positional Play - 50/100 - I know what I'm supposed to do & what not but have too many moments for my liking where I get it completely wrong.
    - Starting Hand Selection - 65/100 - I try to steer clear of danger by not playing marginal hands OOP but as above, there are times when I can't seem to help myself
    - Note making - 20/100 - I should keep more notes
    - Reads/Instincts - 20/100 - Really depends on my mood when I'm playing mostly. If I can concentrate on the one game then I'm better at it but I guess like lots of players here there's often plenty going on in the background that distracts me
    - Aggression - 10/100 - MUST DO BETTER!!!
    - Ability - 40/100 - As said, I know what to do & what not to do but there are too many times for my liking where I seem to lose the plot and start playing like a total newbie
    - Bankroll Management - 95/100 - To a large extent, I probably play a little too low for my BR & I think that can almost get me into as much trouble as when I very occasionally play a little over it. For some reason I can't seem to cash in the £3 DYM but have cashed in 10 of my last 12 at £5
    - Table Selection - 65/100 - I know how I like to play & will generally wait until I can find it. However there are times when I just want some action & jump straight in without thinking.
    - Discipline - 30/100 - I can mostly tell when I'm beaten but have this horrible habit of telling myself what hand my oppo is likely to have & call in the hope I'm wrong!
    - Patience - 70/100 - I think I'm probably too patient sometimes & quickly find myself in too many all in or fold situations in tourneys.
    - Overall - 40/100 (ish) - I've always thought I'm a very average player. Better than some & a lot worse than others. I don't think I'll ever get to grips with some of the finer points of the game & that's fine by me as I only play for leisure. I pretty much agree with what Tikay said, I get by. I don't think I'm ever likely to go broke playing but I'm never likely to win anything significant.

Positional Play                   70%. I know how important it is but make fundamental errors here .

    - Starting Hand Selection      30%. Am probably too selective esp later stages.

    - Note making                       10%. Hardly write notes, I know a good player normally.

    - Reads/Instincts                  10%. Often get good instictive reads but better at this live
    - Aggression                         10%. Not aggressive enough esp later on.

    - Ability                              30% Better live player definately.

    - Bankroll Management          100%. Am very good, keep to my limits.

    - Table Selection                    5%. I just jump on lol             - Discipline                          80% usually, but I have "non-disciplined" nights too sometimes.

    - Patience                                   80%. Pretty patient.

    - Overall                             35%. Have about 15% ROI over 3 years but Live I have about 75% ROI over 2 trips to Vegas and regular games in Leeds / APAT etc.

positional play  [ normally sitting ]  this can be quiet sore on the bu m so

      i give myself  50/100 for  this .

starting hand selection[ normally use two hands ] find it easier this way .

       a  90 /100  for this .

if i must say so myself .

       90/100 for this .

aggression  i normally leave this to irishraver , she has a great shot with a frying pan .

0/100 for me a punch bag.

ability   i once won a egg and spoon race and presently i am fixing a shelf .

       for this 100/100

bank  roll  management   i think the hill was 100 feet high ,

and i managed too roll down the bank of the hill without stopping .

Not being funny guys, but if what is in these posts is all true, you are p***ng money away.  Unless this is part of some super strat that you are gonna completely change ur game after this to throw everyone off course.

Jeez, I`m sometimes paranoid about posting a hand in a strat section for fear of giving too much away.

    Positional Play - 90
    Starting Hand Selection - 80
    Note making - 10
    Reads/Instincts - 60
    Aggression - 65
    Ability - 60
    Bankroll Management - 90
    Table Selection - 30
    Discipline - 80
    Patience - 80
    Overall - 60

Most of these things are so fundamental to poker that I dont think its difficult to score high in. For example positional play, starting hand selection, bankroll management... these are the easy things imo as they are so fundamental and basic.

Things like discipline and patience come easier to some than others but can always be worked on.

Then there are the more difficult things such as agression and reads etc which i think are more experience based.

Aggghhhhh I nearly did too!!! - Never been so short-stacked for so long! I loeee the 3pm tounry, and it loves me lately :)

        1      BigSteviex - £88.50 + 30 League Points2Lays0d - £59 + 26 League Points3DOHHHHHHH - £41.30 + 22 League Points4DAZZLE279 - £29.50 + 18 League Points
For most, this questionnaire will be pretty easy, as they specialise in either tournys or cash. I see myself as being able to play and be successful at both, and some of the categories are different according to the game Im playing, but will just give an honest-ish mark for them both combined.
    - Positional Play - 80 tournys/60 cash - 70%
    - Starting Hand Selection - 65%

    - Note making - hmmmm, 15% - The regs on sky make these not as important for me, if I see a new name, I'll make a note if ness!

    - Reads/Instincts - 80%

    - Aggression - Hmm I'll interpret this as balancing aggression, so 60%

    - Ability - I think I have some natural poker skills which makes it alot easier game. Hard to put a        number on it, but hope one day I can put 99.9% - nobodys perfect ;)

    - Bankroll Management - Ill mark myself down here for playing too tight with the bankroll - Far too     tight!! so 25%

    - Table Selection - Improved alot lately - 71%

    - Discipline - Again improving - Was 5%, now 20% :)

    - Patience - Again, Improved beyond belief - was 1%, now 3%

    - Overall - Yeh in reflection very hard question to answer, So i WONT :) - Probably best answered by sum1 who has played with me lots, or watched me lots.
