    We're Doomed I tell you........ not us ( yet ) it's the humble.... B

The surprisingly dark history (and doomed future) of bananas.
The banana is the perfect fruit in so many ways, from its nutritional and filling substance to its convenient natural packaging. Most of the world enjoys bananas as part of a regular diet, and yet most people don't know that within the history of banana plantations lies political corruption, **** massacre, and a disease epidemic.

What's more, the banana as we know it today may very well cease to exist within the next 10 years. From a spoil of war, to a weapon of conquest and an abuse of land and labor, the banana's history is surprisingly dark, and the future looks like it may repeat the same mistakes.

....The good the bad & the ugly. !

Three Conservative politicians will be knighted by the Princess Royal.

Former Tory ministers Sir David Davis and Sir Gavin Williamson and ex-backbencher Sir Philip Davies will receive knighthoods for their public service at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.

Sir Gavin, 48, who was twice sacked as a Cabinet minister and oversaw the exams fiasco during the coronavirus pandemic, was recommended for the honour by Boris Johnson in 2022.

‘Republicanism by stealth’: Australia’s Great Seal redesign ditches reference to monarch.

So Charlies visit didn't impress them.

Australia’s formal symbol of sovereignty, its Great Seal, has been redesigned without a reference to the monarch, breaking with more than 120 years of tradition and triggering criticisms of “republicanism by stealth”.

The new version of the Great Seal of Australia – a ceremonial stamp authorised by the monarch and used on key documents exercising royal powers in Australia – was authorised via royal warrants signed by the prime minister, Anthony Albanese, and King Charles III during his visit to Canberra’s Government House earlier this month.

    Stay off the Mountain.......

Images show Hawaii's highest summit rarely covered with snow now has Snow.

Residents who are more used to sunny days on the beach and vacation weather have instead been left with severe travel restrictions and icy roads. Meteorologists said the winter landscape across Hawaii is the result of freezing temperatures blowing in from the ocean meeting with moisture in the air.

Tories should change their name, says Conservatives’ election guru Lynton Crosby.

Mm! But the Con in Conservatives is what the Tories are all about......would be deception to change it.

Classic car owners issued update over their future after petrol and diesel banned.

Classic cars will be able to stay on the roads beyond the planned ban on petrol and diesel thanks to pioneering new fuels. Veteran cars have pioneered sustainable fuels on this year’s RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Run, in a major boost for owners.

The event showcased the future with all four venerable pre-1905 vehicles owned and run by the Royal Automobile Club running on innovative sustainable fuels. .

All successfully completed the hallowed 60-mile route from capital to coast. The veteran cars have pioneered fuels from SUSTAIN on the annual trip from Hyde Park to Madeira Drive, after being developed by fuel specialist Coryton, the leading supplier of bespoke fuels.

Birdwatchers flock to cul-de-sac to glimpse rare bird on washing line

He arrived at 9.30am, but had to wait five hours before the bird made an appearance. “It was very exhilarating,” he told BBC.

Mr King, 67, was packing up his equipment and was ready to leave when the songbird finally arrived.

He said: “I had basically given up. Somebody called and there it was at the top of the tree. It was a great relief to see it.”

Hundreds of bird lovers flocked to a sleepy West Yorkshire cul-de-sac this morning to catch a glimpse of an ultra-rare bird from America not seen in Britain for a decade.

Around 300 bird watchers crowded into the road in Shelf, West Yorkshire, where the scarlet tanager was first spotted on Monday perched on a washing line.
It is thought the small yellow and black bird arrived in the UK after being blown off course by strong winds from a hurricane in North America.
