The surprisingly dark history (and doomed future) of bananas. The banana is the perfect fruit in so many ways, from its nutritional and filling substance to its convenient natural packaging. Most of the world enjoys bananas as part of a regular diet, and yet most people don't know that within the history of banana plantations lies political corruption, **** massacre, and a disease epidemic.
What's more, the banana as we know it today may very well cease to exist within the next 10 years. From a spoil of war, to a weapon of conquest and an abuse of land and labor, the banana's history is surprisingly dark, and the future looks like it may repeat the same mistakes.
Three Conservative politicians will be knighted by the Princess Royal.
Former Tory ministers Sir David Davis and Sir Gavin Williamson and ex-backbencher Sir Philip Davies will receive knighthoods for their public service at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
Sir Gavin, 48, who was twice sacked as a Cabinet minister and oversaw the exams fiasco during the coronavirus pandemic, was recommended for the honour by Boris Johnson in 2022.
"Talk to the Hand" ...... Oops! not anymore. The much hated sculpture has been slapped down to a round of applause. Not a great sculpture to look at but at least it wasn't the other way up, two fingers. cough!

Australia’s formal symbol of sovereignty, its Great Seal, has been redesigned without a reference to the monarch, breaking with more than 120 years of tradition and triggering criticisms of “republicanism by stealth”.
The new version of the Great Seal of Australia – a ceremonial stamp authorised by the monarch and used on key documents exercising royal powers in Australia – was authorised via royal warrants signed by the prime minister, Anthony Albanese, and King Charles III during his visit to Canberra’s Government House earlier this month.

Residents who are more used to sunny days on the beach and vacation weather have instead been left with severe travel restrictions and icy roads. Meteorologists said the winter landscape across Hawaii is the result of freezing temperatures blowing in from the ocean meeting with moisture in the air.
