I wonder if the Jurors are protected or have any anonymity.

Scratch that Trump and his lawyers had a say in their choosing.

What does that mean for the election? Is he able to run with a criminal record ?
Although I don’t think much of President Biden, the world may have got a break if Trump cannot hold office again

That seems illogical to me. A convicted criminal running for the highest office in that country, perhaps the most important office in the “ free world” , does not sit well. Unfortunately it will obviously embolden his supporters, who somehow do not see the man for what he is.
America does leave you scratching your head in disbelief sometimes.
Sadly our own political arena isn’t great either, a lack of electable gravitas, leaves us , the average citizen, with little or no choice. Where are the giants of intellect, who can stride over the gutter, speak the truth to the people and put into place plans for the good of all not just the privileged few.

Well he may come to regret liking Hannibal Lecter. Seems finding a cellmate won't be a problem.

    Manbaby never seems to learn.

There was never going to be any other result. But that's not really the point.

All these convictions are not going to be the thing likely to put him on prison. Continually slagging off the Judge and the Jury is.

This is a lot like being in an Indian restaurant after 10 pints on a Friday night.

It is unwise to verbally abuse the Waiter and the Chef. But it is really, really unwise to do it while your Curry is in the kitchen rather than in front of you...

Here is Manbaby's statement. Because he has actually put it in writing. You can get away with more stuff verbally in the minutes after a verdict than now

"This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt," the email says.

"The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people," it adds. "I'm a very innocent man."

"Disgrace"? Unwise word. But not likely to be the main issue.

"Rigged trial"? What a stupid thing to say. This is a man who is openly proud of having replaced some dead Democrat Judges in the Supreme Court exclusively with hardline, Republican ones. Why? Because, under the US Judicial system, various appointments are political appointments. Something he pronounces is great. But only when the appointments suit him. That is not "rigged". It is the system. His system. America's system

"Conflicted Judge"? Is he insane? Saying that and proving that are completely different things

"Corrupt"? That is comfortably the most unwise word. That's the word that has his legal team running for the hills. And the sound of knives being sharpened.

"Real verdict...by the people"? It has already been given. A Jury was selected, by agreement of both sides, to represent the people. That is the role of the Jury

    This man is deluded.

Just as an aside, jury selection is totally different in the UK than in the 51 legal systems in the USA.

Different States in the USA have different rules as to how Jurors are selected. But, at differing levels, both Prosecution and Defence are allowed to have some potential Jurors removed without giving a reason.

That system was abolished in England and Wales many years ago. But I am old enough to remember the old days. And used to get people wanting advice as to how to get out of it. They used to mainly fall into 2 camps-let's call them (1) the Merchant Banker and (2) the Self-Employed Painter/Decorator. Advice was, respectively

(1). Wear your best pinstripe suit. Carry a copy of the Telegraph. I expect the Defence will object

    (2) Wear your work clothes. The scruffier the better. Carry a copy of the Morning Star. I expect the Prosecution will object

The easy way to get rejected for jury service is to keep saying " Their Guilty "

Used to be true. Isn't now. In England/Wales, at least. Very few exemptions.

Short of an already-scheduled major operation, next to impossible.

In your example, at some stage the Judge would give you an option. Which would involve a rather large prison sentence.
