Farage’s Campaign Stumbles Amid Continued Challenges
Nigel Farage’s campaign for Reform UK faces early turmoil as controversies involving a candidate’s inflammatory remarks and a convicted fraudster’s involvement threaten to overshadow his political message. Here’s the full story.
He is a ****, but this is the joy of living in a so called democracy, the people choose.
How could any group of people choose him?
I would suggest that it is in some part a way of reminding the current "big two" that we as voters always have a choice.
You know that putting this undesirable cretin in Parliament will not change the big picture but it says to them that right now they are less respected and popular than an odious pile of excrement.
Voting for Farage is more stupid than Americans voting for Trump. In the US if enough people vote for Trump, they get him as President. If the people of Clacton vote for Farage they just get a dodgy MP, that will be a nonentity in the HoC. I might be wrong, but he doesnt strike me as someone who is likely to spend his time outside parliament in Clacton helping his constituents, he will be concentrating his efforts on earning extra money.
He and Trump are divisive. I could never vote for either of them.
Farage is in his element in the election campaign, as he is in the limeight. It sickens me to see him prancing around the country with that stupid smirk on his face. I personally cant see the point in voting for Farage/Reform, as you will get Keir Starmer, and a Labour government anyway. No logic.
According to the polls Reform may get 5 seats, so they will be on a par with Plaid Cymru, and the Greens in respect of influence in the HoC.
The argument against PR is that Reform may get a load more seats. That shouldnt make anyone happy.
I would rather eat 100 ballot papers than vote for Farage.
I'm 100% in agreement but the point is that the people of Clacton by voting him in send a message to all mainstream parties.
It's a simple one. P155 us off enough and here's what we can do.
Yes it will serve no practical purpose and won't make a blind bit of difference to whether Labour win or not.
However, it will sit as a gentle reminder to all parties that there is always an alternative. Maybe not a smart or practical one but nevertheless an alternative.

I can see why you might say that, and I dont mean to be argumentative, just for the sake of it. I just cant see either of the main two parties being particularly bothered about a party that gets a very small number of seats. I dont see that Plaid Cymru or the Greens have caused Labour, or the Tories to have many recent sleepless nights. You may be right that the people of Clacton may think that they are sending a message. Although I am not sure that either of the main 2 parties will get it. If Labour get a 200 seat majority, I cant see them being concerned over Reform getting 5.

This of course may backfire. Farage was an ar5ehole when he was an MEP. They may be better choosing someone that may represent their interests well.
Yes it will serve no practical purpose and won't make a blind bit of difference to whether Labour win or not.
It is something they may live to regret.
However, it will sit as a gentle reminder to all parties that there is always an alternative. Maybe not a smart or practical one but nevertheless an alternative.
If the Lib Dems get 60 plus seats, that will be a far stronger reminder.
