Well Its getting to late game the strange alliance with the egyptians is either going to be something I strongly regret for this playthrough or what gets me over the line. its been nearly all game long the big trade has changed the finance and they declared war on france for us when france keeps declaring. France have yet to pose a threat military except to our trade cararvans been ferried across the ocean which is still an issue.

so we are in the final push and no more saves and reloads possible as game glitches now so forced into final push.

near end game got a few high production cities been built ready for space New Winni is looking good for production and science have not built the processing plant thingy yet and already this production!

so playthrough failed there were several mistakes I made first the Supper sci city was great but did not have many other good cities this is important.

further I tried to play too peacefully which can work on lower difficulties and I was afraid if I got into long wars this would cost me again a mistake I think really the way to do it has to be mostly through conquest.

    time for another try.

some things I am not willing to do for playthrough attempts
    1. play on the meditrain I just think that allows to many quick huts which feels like an exploit but little in terms of productive land or trade.
Whether the meditarian is better because of huts or worse because of production and trade i dont know but it seems to either feel like a difficult one or one that will feel to exploity.
    2. play as india on world map, like yes I know that gives me everything ideal starting location great sci city nearby but then like with huts you can amass an army and take out 3 or 4 ai opponents right at the start. as its quick to get across half the map I had an emperor game with india which I threw away because of this. Its like I dont want a diety win to feel almost like a cheat etc.

I was way behind on science for where I normally am the whole game but was still ahead of the ai the whole game just not by much, and lost space race.

I have heard that the romans are the best to start with as they most likely to have two settlers and path to monarchy and bronze etc. but have had great starts with the vikings. So I dunno.

I think some people have made comments about waste of life etc I think that is silly but I do have a lot of things I could focus on in life so there are a few things that apply, firstly I dont just have a few attempts and give up but there is an amount of attempts when I do.

What about real life, you know that thing where you experience real exhilaration and elation.

Seriously, you could actually find that you like it.

Yeah thats what the neighbourhood said to when I ran down the street naked screaming I did it I did it I actually did it. (note I am been silly I did not really do that ( I mean I did not really do the running through the neighbourhood naked thing, not that I did not really beat deity because I did beat diety) )

I think that's the point @TheEdge949 is making?.....

Perhaps you should, metaphorically ' run down the street naked' .....

No-ones judging your lifestyle choice, just there's so much more, if you give it a chance?

Good luck and I look forward to seeing the photos of you and Mark abseiling somewhere?

So I think there is a lot of judgement been made about me without the facts to back this up. The idea that I live inside and never go out much or live etc. Okay to beat the game on diety would involve a lot of dedication and experience playing so maybe that was a giveaway? but other then that but then you would only that if you played the game yourself.

like if phil was mentioning that I would get it, anyway my thoughts on diety is yes I know I can beat it now and kind of feels like the difficulty level i should play when playing except the constant happiness and disorders is a huge headache it basically only stops been once you get Michas Chappel bach Cathederal in democracy with 20% lux and then still end up having issues where need entertainers after building coleseums. The route to play generally seems to be a high science total war monger.

I think the best way for me to play civ 2 when I do play is emperor difficulty less of a headache king is too easy. Diety is beatable but hard Emperor feels like the right difficulty.

I do have a issues with computer games though. I need to limit my time on them.

Finding the right level is important.

There is a delicate balance between achievement and enjoyment. Which is a very individual thing. For me, it is Prince. Higher than that stops being fun-for me, anyway. Good score on Prince in your Hall of Fame.

Similarly, important to have a balance between computer games and real life. Which is primarily your decision as to what is right for you and yours.

Not for others to seek to impose their choices on you.

In a similar vein, I used to play Championship Manager (as it then was) about 30 years ago. A lot. Bought Football Manager 24 fairly recently. Still addicted ;)

Glad I am both Retired and have an understanding Wife...

I'm still playing a game of Football Manager 2014 with my friend. We are going to move to FM25 after we complete 100 seasons, which we should manage by Christmas.

Poker took over as my main indoor pursuit 15 years ago, but I've recently been enjoying Flight Simulator.
