Im on the best run ever....I keep pinching myself, its not huge money, but for the stakes im playing, and the amount of hours i play (like 150th in the league) It's pretty unreal for me....

How long Does it have to last, for me to believe Im not just running like God, and actually beating the game?

My tourny results while this run on cash has been going on....has been terrible though.

(the velocity has been kind, if it counts)

Id much rather win my flips and hit my draw on a cash table than a tourny tho - tournys just a bonus to me,

(Now Iv said this i'll go have the worst night ever on the tables)

i find it funny that as soon as a few "regs" go on a losing streak its always because of some"numpty" that shouldnt of called.......
maybe these "numpties" have been watching the play on master cash and seen you "regs" chucking 100's of pounds on the river with 9 high lol...
i hate the asumption that only the regs should win any money..in the same way a lower football team gets a draw against a top team in the cup, when the ground is full you always get "where were you last home game?"

I dont often play with Boon as I have him down as a VGP so this is good news for me but Boon Im not sure dropping to 25/50 is going to resolve anything for you, I know your game and it is as solid as anyone on here.
My advice is to watch the tables you wish to play on and see whats happening on the tables to get a feel for it rather then just sitting and playing.
I watched a table today at 50/100. The cards were down and player1 had bet on each street. The cards after the river were 5s 8h Ac 3s 2d one player bet £42 into a £60 pot with KJos the other player called with pocket 7s where as another 50/100 table players are laying 2 pair down.
What I'm trying to say is that the variance on internet poker is very difficult to evaluate as there is no average tables at any set limit, you can get mugs, donks, and rocks and also the newbies with more money then sense.
I wouldn't dream of telling you how to play poker but possibly you have got set in your ways and perhaps you need to have a spring clean which is pretty much what your discussing on here maybe!
Anyway I wish you all the best as I have leant a few tricks from you over the years.

    Keep Smiling

I'm running very good, thanks!!! Profit of 48bb per 100 hands over the past 3900 hands on 2p4p. Hope this doesnt jinx me. I only meet 2 of Elsadog's 3 criteria cos I've been here longer than 2 weeks!
Of course, my total profit is less than 1 of the higher stakes regs would win or lose in one hand.

how do you get your bb/100 hands hands played seagull?, i thought sky poker doesnt support holdem manager or poker tracker? wd at 2/4p id advise to start taking shots at .5/10 .10/20 as soon possible cuz ther isnt a terrible amount of difference between these levels.

At the end of each session of play I record on a spreadsheet how many hours I have played (to the nearest 15 minutes), how much I have won or lost, and I count the number of hands I have played in the hand history (15 hands per page is a good way to count quickly), so its all manual and no magic bullet I'm afraid.

Cheers for replies guys, some very helpful stuff.  Ive had a good weekend, playing a little bit and watching the big dogs in the crazy cash games which have recently appeared.  The amount of money flying around up there makes any bankroll swings that I have look insignificant.

In an attempt to break the routine I decided to learn something new over the last couple of evening, and stuck a bit of money into cash heads up.  Turns out there is a lot of money here, and although still getting some horrors I made a very nice profit.  I would reccomend this to anyone else feeling the wrath of the crads, I feel that learning something new has refreshed my game enough to turn a more positive mindset.

BR grind starts today, see you at the tables and thanks for the nice words.  Ben

Poker has done a massive carp on my heart.  I am having the worst, never ending, downswing of my life.  No matter what I do, or how well I play, I cannot turn a profit.  Becasue of this I have left 2k in my account and I am going to try to build this at 25/50nl.  Unfortunatly if this doesn't work, I might have to cut my losses.  I don't want to bore anyone, but if you havn't seen how bad I am running this is quite a good beat story:  Big 3 bet pre with qq.  Flop comes 2 4 Q.  Opponent bets, I re raise, call.  Turn 5.  Bet, All in, Call.  River 3. Opponent Has AK.  Bye bye £400.  See you all at the 25/50 tables!

Having played poker now for many years,Bryan and i have experienced every piece of both good luck and bad on here and other sites. We never come on forums telling the members when we have been very lucky all week, and equally, we dont come here moaning when we have had bad luck.Nobody has a god given right to make profit all the time ,no matter how good they think they are,and you can try and work out allday why people make crazy calls, but youll never find an answer. It takes time to mature in this game, but when you do,youll just get on with it .Dont forget, poker is 80% luck, dont blame yourself for bad beats because you cannot do anything to alter luck.Kind regards Bryan oryan and i
