As I'm sure many of you will have already seen, Richard Orford has issued a bankroll challenge to all Sky Poker players.  I have accepted, and plan to turn £1 into £100 in a month.  To start off I will be playing freerolls and the 30p DYMs.  However, I have already hit a snag, as I have always been terrible at 30p DYMs.  This is where YOU come in.  Please post your tips and strategies here, because God knows I need as much help as I can get...

    Hi Wilhelm

You may well get called very light in 30p DYM,s, I found the best way is play tight and let the others knock thenselves out and only push if I knew i had the best hand.

Not so much a tip Wilhelm but an observation - my bankroll management has seen me progress through 30p to £2.25 in DYMs - actually current funds dictate that I'll be going back to £1.15. when Richard's challenge starts 1st May - but out of the levels so far for some reason I've always found the 30p games to be the hardest to get results in.

Other than that I guess the standard advice is to try and keep your head down for the first 2 or three levels unless you hit on a real premium hand......but I've also heard Trevor H advocate getting busy early on simply because everyone else is likely to be playing the ostrich....as always the beauty of poker!

Just super tight. Play your big hands, I generally don't play small pairs maybe 88 and up. I remember when I was playing 1dym and on several occasions I didn't even have to play a hand to cash. Let the donks knock esach other out. 10bb or less shove with the first good hand you get if you have the least amount of ships make saure you have fold equity./ hope this helps.

    Register...Relax...Read Forum...Tuck Into Hob Nobs...

You'll more than likely have cashed after doing the above - there's no need to get involved until bubble or you're under 7BB's (can afford to drop lower than normal) so let the "it's only 30p" brigade knock themselves out and you can keep adding to your bankroll without much trouble! When I first stared out, I registered for DYM and went to answer the phone - came back literally minute later and I'd cashed...that's how I roll!

30p dym and freerolls are my game.play very tight you must play only good cards until blinds go up even then big raises will get no respect. 10-12 x blinds for big pair once called very hard to get them to fold.all i can say is GL see you there.

I like to start aggresive get a chip lead because most people play tight to start with and dont wanna get knocked out early. Take advantage of them. If you get a big hand and can double up then sit back and let others do the work although you can steal quite a bit if you see weakness and wittle them down just dont play silly hands only strong. Generaly i hate double your money games cos i like to beat all players on the table and get max money so would rather play a normal sit n goes and play better cos i am playing to win not survive and i dont want the bronze medal i want gold :)

I've been back playing these for a while now and my strategy however boring and soul-crushing is to only play AA, KK and AK to raise with. Raise quite big early on to get max when you hit with AK for example. With QQ I tend to just shove all in from level 1 upwards as most donkeys will snap with AQ, AJ worst pairs, if I raised there's a 33% chance of overs so way too risky.

I also limp in with small pairs as hitting a set often leads to a double up, but if miss fold. Every other hand I just fold down, that gets quite frustrating with say AQs, JJ on the button but so far it's been working for me, so no need to change.

I would also recommend to try to keep your stack at least over 1000, as many donks will call with any 2 if its lower, this is bad when your total bluff shoving with air.

I ain't played 30p for quite a while but I'd imagine it to be about 4-2 in donks - normal players, so you should be fine.

    Hi Wilhelm
I have played many 30p DYM's with an excellent sucess rate.

The best advice I can give you is BE PATIENT.
Players at this level tend to be very loose and will call you with rubbish so you need to wait on good cards.
If you do hit a premium hand however then you will collect chips by slowplaying as many players will bet into you with second or third pair on the flop.

Avoid bluffing as you will get called.
