See how I anticipated DTW Bandit's question there? Was that a soul-read, or what?

The Welsh Brigade, led by the shy & retiring Roberto Romanello, & aided by Gurnham Harpic - that's his name, honest! - are here, so there will be something for Dylan to follow.

STILL no news on how many runners so far, sorry, the plasmas are still stubbornly broken-ed.

    Well, yes & no.

The Cardroom here is quite magnificent, the best Casino Cardroom I've seen outside Vegas. In fact it reminds me of The Venetian.

But Dan is in a little corner of the Casino in the "overspill" area, some 100 yards away!

His Table? I don't recognize any of them, but once the player lists are printed off (the printer has broken down, in solidarity with the Plasmas) I'll name them all for you.

But.....he only has THREE other players on his Table - it's currently 4-handed!

Live Poker, see, expect the unexpected, don't moan, & cope with it.

Not had chance to look yet alan, & until the player lists arrive (the Casino computer system has broken down now), I won't know.

Lord Raab, the GUKPT Supremo & Top Bloke, reckons there are about 120 seated right now, but there is a HUGE queue at the cash-desk, as the Registration System has, well, broken down it seems.

Some random non-random names to follow.

The field may be small by GUKPT standards - I'm gonna guess 180 will play - but it is stellar, VERY strong indeed.

    Check these out.

There are at LEAST two WSOP Bracelet Winners here - Willie Tann & J P Kelly.

Now go look at a player datebase at the names of Ali Mallu & Alan McManus - look how many cashes those old stagers have netted. Both are a nightmare to play against.

Big Trevor Reardon is here, Roberto I already mentioned, Paul "The Kid" Zimbler, Jeff "Jaffa Cake" Kimber, Stu Rutter, the legend that is Bambos Xytxtyanabaralous (maybe a spelling error there, the Casino spell-check has broken down), & Mrs Bambos - Mrs Rockity Rock is she.

Pippa Flanders - who I think has been World Ladies Champion not once, but twice, with her hen-pecked hubbie, Tim Hi Diddly Hi Flanders.

And I'm thriilled to see my special friend, & the founder & owner of DTD, Rob Yog, playing, along with his aide-de-camp, Simon Aces Trumper.

And there are more - which I'll post up shortly.

But I better go see how Dan is getting on, so give me 2 minutes. (The escalator has broken down, so I gotta walk).

    Would love to be there!

Seems like everything has broken today though!? Haha.

Hope Dan has had a good opening hour...

Keep us updated wise one! Seems like a great field there for a smaller turn out!

They began with 15,000, & Dan seems to have found a lot of big hands - ahem - as he is up to 19,000 already. And he has a huge stack of low denom chips.*

    * Any suggestion that he has been at-it will be strongly confirmed.

There seems to be a little theme to your posts.  Tell me, is Coventry any where near Iceland or some hum-dinger of a volcano?

The Plasmas are working, & indicate that at present, there are 129 runners.

This figure may be inaccurate - I'm sure it is - as the calculators are on the blink.

I mentioned Alan McManus earlier - I meant Alan McLean, my apologies. Don't tell Atilla, please.

Can you give us a breakdown (oops, prob the wrong word to use there!) of the pay out table or will this not been known until after the reg period has closed?. How long, if any, does reg stay open for?

The Wifi Router needs attention, so I need to briefly log off & then back on, hopefully we will have a better connection then, & we can really start cooking.

    And I need a wee.

That's better! The new wifi is super-quick.

    Quick Update:

We have completed Level One, & are 10 minutes into Level 2. I know that, as the Plasmas have been mended.

    Blinds are now 50-100.

    Starting stacks were 15,000.

    Nobody has exited yet.

Number of runners? It's either 129, 131, or 137, depending who you ask.

However, players can buy in until the end of Level 2, so the exact field size will not be known until then.

In reply to Alan, the Prize Pool will not be determined until the buy-in period has closed, in another 45 minutes. It's normal in UK Live Poker to be able to buy-in for the first 2 Levels, though until a few years ago, that was not the case.

One for the Conspircy Theorists coming up.

    Conspiracy Theorists Note.

You hear all the nonsense about non-random Table balancing, yeah?

    Well how about this.

    Table 3, Seat 3, DTD's Simon Trumper.

    Table 3, Seat 5, DTD's Rob Yong.

You could not make it up!

Sandwiched between them, like a rose between two thorns, is Pippa Flanders. And if they mess with her, she will snap shove all-in. Women, see, stubborn.

Simon is NOT happy - he has no chance of getting a thing past Pippa, never mind the uber-aggro Rob.

    Next up, a Dan-Count.

PS - Just seen 2005 Player of the Year, Micky Wernick, sat next to Willie Tann & Alan McLean, on Table Saga. Young James Atkin - "MC" - is on the same table, & must think he's wandered into an old peoples home. Old peeps should all be shot, I say.

PS - Am being massaged now. By a 23 stone geezer from Blackpool, "Phil The Tower". I run bad.
