In Response to Re: SPT 2010-11 Discussion thread : Thank you for your reply. Cross?....not at all. Disillusioned maybe, but not cross. Posted by MAXALLY
I assumed "cross" because of what seemed to me to be the biting sarcasm in your Post.
Apparently this isnt a discussion thread about SPT! My question answered on another thread SEVEN days after I asked it on here. I might aswell go and have discussions and ask questions to this.... Posted by MAXALLY
I'm sorry, I though it was a rhetorical observation rather than something I needed to answer, as you probably knew the answer!

Well if I knew the answer, I wouldn't of asked the question!
Well I never saw it Alan, as I already explained. It did not seem exactly time precious, either. If you ever have an urgent question, feel free to use the "Ask tikay" Thread, or PM me.
TSP (Tighty) suggested it was rhetorical, & to be fair, it was somewhat ambigiously worded. You said (my italics).......
"....The 32 (so far) qualifiers for SPT, leg two @ Newcastle. I thought all TSP will be given seats again anyway? Just an observation!...dont want to start a war......"

Your replies to my posts seem to be getting more and more condescending but I did quite clearly put a (?) in my script which would indicate a question to me. The question has however now been answered so thank you, once again.
As a foot note though, I would genuinely like to see ALL the presenters/analysts playing in the SPT legs and added on as extras to the field. I know this would not be logistically possible but would add some thing else to all the players experience for the day. I have stated many times that I am 110 % behind TSP, but I did feel that there was a slight over exposure of the team at the Blackpool Leg. I know others feel the same way but will not say anything for fear of getting slated.....which I will no doubt get now!

It's a tough ask, as you note, to get more of the "Talent" (sadly, that is the colloquial term for front-of-camera peeps, even me!) at the SPT Legs.
Rich Milner & Attila have to juggle the Talent Roster, as Channel 865 go to air every Saturday & Sunday, so it's a bit awkward. All of the Talent DO play the SPT Events, but not all at the same time, & that is just not do-able given that the 865 Team is now far smaller than it was when we went to air 7 nights per week.
If indeed I do play Newcy, it will be my first one, but that's just because I have other & existing SPT responsibilities. I must add that Rich Milner has been pressing me very hard to play a few SPT Events, which I find rather flattering to be honest.
Too much TSP exposure? Possibly. We'll look to try to keep a good balance in future. It is the view of the Business - right or wrong - that it's a good thing to give them decent coverage. It's just finding the right balance, & pleasing everyone, that's the hard bit.
I'm sorry you find my replies condescending, they are 100% not intended to be. I do struggle to find the right way to deal with your questions sometimes. I just want to be polite, & do my bit to try to keep this Community a place which is fun to visit, I don't have any agendas whatsoever outside of that.
I really was shocked that you should say, at first, "it's just an observation, I don't want a war", followed by that rather sarcastic picture of "talking to a brick wall", & being "disillusioned" by it. How on earth did "pop" get to "bang" so quickly?
It's just a poker forum to me, Alan, & it's quite outside my understanding how such obvious angst can be caused by such minor issues.
I really don't know what else to say, to be honest, I think you are seeing things that are not there. We shall never know. I think the line between "polite" & "condescending" is quite fine. The former is extremely important to me. I get a fair few vitriolic & sarcastic Posts to reply to across the Community as a whole, but of course I cannot & would never reply in kind, so I am at a disadvantage when it comes to that sort of thing, I just have to suffer it. You are not happy when you don't get a reply, & when I do reply, you believe it to be condescending. I'm a bit lost for an answer to that, to be honest.
this may have already been answered but i dont have time to have a flick through this thread at the minute. may i ask which presenters/analysts will be in newcastle for this event? cheers
TK, LM & TH are all maybes I think. Sounds like at least two of them will be playing, but all a bit up in the air due to new schedules and stuff. Juat my impresion from reading the spt forum, my well be corrected by someone more in the know.
Trevor Harris is a definite to play, but others are not. In reply to Maxally. I had similar concerns last year about the Total Player, but as i see it, Blackpool was the first opportunity for Sky to give any meaningfully coverage to TSP and was to be expected. If Sky were to continue with this level of coverage the team then imo we can then get on their case but to do it after the first event is jumping the gun a bit. At Blackpool there was a lot of filming of "My Name Is" slots and they were aired last week.

Hi Hursty,
Trevor Harris is a definite, & LML is a "very probable".

I think eleven "My Name is" were filmed at Blackpool SPT, of which nine have already been aired.
I'm not sure if it was filmed at Blackpool, but all SPT regulars will know gravelly-voiced Joe. His "My Name" debuts on Primo this evening, & it might just be the best "My Name" we've ever had. I saw it a preview of it yesterday in the Edit Suite, & have not stopped laughing since.
Just came 6th in Santas Sack, and won a seat into a SPT of my choice. Please can you confirm that i can play in any? And if so when do I have to choice, is it to late for Newcastle? Or is the 1st one Luton?

May I enquire why you are disillusioned?

Classic stuff.
Shurely not?
PS - Joe, it was terrific. You are my hero.
