In Response to Re: 15 MINS......Past The Hour.!! : you statin to see wat i mean....2300 left if he folded ... 300 150 blinds .. i also see wat u mean wen u pot commited... but given the fact the he raised 900 befor the flop and then the player went all in . .. ib be lookin at my stack and think iv still got enough. if i folded ... id also be thinkin the odds are es got ak qa lol at best hes got a rag or small pok pair.. and even then id be slight under dog the bigger facter to me is theres a very big chance im a monster under dog.. got 2300 still in it ..id have to fold.....possibly id call if i ad less than say 1600 1700.. left Posted by zxghostxz
i dont mean to sound like im critersizzin any1 coz im not .. its far easier after the event iv called many a time in the same situation.. but wen ive looked i wish i ident coz most of the time yor dominated ....and lets be honest wen u call its nice to see the rag or the poket pair lolol
for what it's worth i agree with ghost, thought greg had raised that amt 2 play v tikay or take blinds but fold 2 a benny re-raise.....otherwise y not go allin in 1st place?
you treble the BB with KO.. (900) (right move) ? Of course
I think this is wrong given stack sizes. OFC raising with KQ is a no brainer but if he's gonna be calling a push here with KQ then he may as well make the whole process far easier for him and push....
Say the stack sizes were: Greg 5k Benny 5k Tikay 2k
Then I think that the raise is correct, as he doesn't want to get commited with another big stack who may wake up with a big hand in the BB. But KQ is a premium hand 4 handed when the blinds are big so he is ofc raising for value and taking down the blinds a very decent proprotion of the time.
ACTUALLY given it a 5th thought the 3xraise does show a lot of strength, even when Greg is quite shallow stacked, in that it says to Benny 'if you go AI then I have to call'.....in which case when Benny does push it polarises his range to a big hand and not one that he is ever ahead of or racing with....
ARGHHHHHH i hate thinking about poker cos with this hand I've come up with like 15 different answers in my head lol.
y did sats finish so early there could have bin more at 15 past the hour! Posted by DELTA
I'm not party to that info DELTA, but if I had to guess, I'd say that I would not play an Online Sat that was due to finish within an hour of the actual Tourney - which will take about 5 or 6 hours - it's too much.
There have been dozens & dozens of Satellites & SNG's to tonight's Deepstack Showdown, for almost a week now, so we cannot say that Sky Poker never gave us the Satellites we requested - they did.
You are only making the raise you did make to take down the blinds or fold to a re-raise.
And the reason for that is, otherwise you would have gone all-in in the 1st place.
By calling the re-raise all in, you are then most likely dominated or flipping a coin at best.
Surely after the strength you have shown with your initial raise, the chance of someone then coming over the top with kj or qj is much less than 10%, especially against the quality of players you were playing.
I think you knew this deep down, which is why you did not go all in first and left yourself back 2000+ chips which were plenty to find another better spot, but then when you were pushed back at, you just couldn't find the fold button.
Of course, it is very easy to analyse this in the cold light of day and out of the heat of battle, but just giving my honest opinion, that's all.
Best of luck in your future play and COME ON U SPURS!!!!!

Thanks for your comments m8, i appreciate it and i agree with you. Another lesson learnt. It wasnt the worst call in the world but it was a "gamblers" call. I dont want to gamble i want to play poker.
Thanks again and gl to you too and to the mighty Spurs!

In Greg's position,(BB) 4 left .. it was time to put pressure for him.
The other option's he had were 'All-in' or 'Flat Call' ? hmmmmm
Nah .. it was one of those hands, in that situation to go for the seat.
If it was the WSOP ..well maybe you could think 'pass' but this as i said, 'was a satellite'
glk benny
That's what happens when you try & nick my Blinds. see?
With 45 mins to go, we are up to 18. Good field, too.
