(As requested, I'm starting a new thread to avoid causing further confusion!)
Ladies and gentlemen, the £15k GTD Primo tournament commences at 8pm. It'll cost you £55 to enter. The accompanying TV show will appear on channel 865 at 9pm. Tikay and I will be sitting in the swivelling white chairs, along with our special guest star Nick Pryce.

Do you remember the poker scene of 2001? None of the major international tours (WPT, EPT, etc.) existed; Internet poker was in its infancy and was still considered a novelty; the WSOP main event attracted 613 runners; 'Late Night Poker' was the only Hold'em show on TV; and my co-host still had sensible hair and most of his own teeth!
Suffice to say, things have changed dramatically in the last 10 years. So, what does the future hold for the game we know and love? What will be the state of the poker industry in 2021? It's crystal ball time, people - get predicting!

I believe the 2021 World Series of Poker main event will have 15,000+ runners and will take three weeks to play down to a final table...which will feature a member of Team Sky Poker!
So when I suggest that it will be a good idea to start a new thread...it gets ignored!!?? And, not for the 1st time, a post of mine is not included in the live show.
There is so much double standards on this forum ATM, it is a joke!
I am on my 'final' warning somehow (even though I have NEVER had a warning before ) so I am baffled with Sky Poker's recent heavy handiness on this 'open' forum TBH.
An official response to my official complaint would be nice from someone 'official' but I guess the hierarchy have more important clients to look after than their forum regulars to care about us any more.

In 2021 the WSOP will be too big if left as is, so i think it will be a 3 of 4 championship event the MAIN EVENT being the final, braclets will be awarded for quarter final and semi final final tables, the main event will be the best of the best and will be something you cant buy in to, thus making it the one and only decider of the worlds best poker player,
hopefully by then i might have enough poker skill to get some where near !

my predictions are
1... tikay will still have blonde hair, but none on his head.
2.... the wsop main event will be held in a new purpose built hall called the 'poker dome', but next to disneyland due to franchising.
3.... rich wins a bracelet.....in a christmas cracker.
4.... redmond lee is mentioned in the same breath as tom dwan.

For the 2021 question, I envisage that the WSOP ME will be capped at about 10,000 runners run over a WEEK event still in Vegas. I do agree though that there may not be any direct buy ins and all players will of have to of qualified through sats.
I think by 2021 that the main event will be around the 10,000 players but i think by then that other formats mainly plo will take the limelight.
Maybe even having 2 main events one for nlhe n plo.
Even h.o.r.s.e events will gather bigger fields as people look to take on the challenge of different variations.
this could be wishful thinking as im currently trying to learn a few variations of poker.
2021 i dont think there will be much difference, will be at the same place, about the same runners as we got the last one............... but i will be on the final table
Question for Pryce: What is your preference in a standard tourney how you start? do you prefer to sit tight tikay-ish or like myself think theres alot of benefit playing alot of pots earlier on maybe even risk a 1/4 of your stack max in the process
The main event will be played in the Omaha variant
Chips will not be used, each player will use digital touchpads to place bets on a digital table, player chip stacks will all be centrally displayed.
Robots will autodeal the tables
The main event will be held at the new Hartigan resort after British businessman James Hartigan buys the rights to the WSOP and moves it to his new casino resort!

I reckon that titles for overall performance over many events and forms of the game throughout a year will become more prominent. The wsop will remain a big feature of the poker calendar but only because of its scale rather than any perceived prestige for winning a single event. Poker is a game about the long term after all.
The wsop will be the last event per year, so decide annual league winners or who's top of the tournament money list etc, and bracelets will then be awarded for these titles.
I predict steady growth up till about 2017, then all future live poker events banned because of some obscure health & safety act
