In Response to Re: If I didn't play No Limit Hold'em I'd play.... : Nope. The H in HORSE is Limit Hold'em. Posted by Sky_Dave
And if sky ran it, it would be - rebuy, bounty hunter, super speed, limit hold em lol!! however this does and will never eradicate the fact that whether it is limit, pot limit, no limit or what ever limit/ clothes on or off limit, HORSE cannot and will not ever be around if Hold em were not invented! and take that to the European court of poker rights and wrongs !!!!!
Texas Hold 'Em, as we know it, has only been popular, & the game of choice, for about 10 years. Even the WSOP was Stud until, I think, about 2000, or 2001.
Go back to the 80's & 90's, & Stud, Draw, & Omaha were the primary games, it was only later that NLHE became so popular.
I am sure NLHE will retain it's mass appeal for a while yet - maybe a decade or so - but no way can it survive much longer than that, imo. People are playing it more & more optimally, so eventually the "edge" will get smaller & smaller. Then, another format will take centre stage for 10 or 20 years. Rinse repeat.
Limit HE is also probably the least liked of the HORSE components, meny players actually "sit out" during the Limit hold Em levels.
Badugi for me. Great, great game. Mixes science and creativity perfectly. Plus on the freeplay tables sometimes the chat gets a little channel 900+......
I think No Limit Turbo PLO Hi-lo bountyhunter, survivor, rebuy freerolls could catch on, with a 1000000 chip add on available at the break for only 56p.:)

+1 Badugi for me too closely followed by PLO Hi/Lo and H.O.R.S.E. I think sobriety is a must for the last one to keep up with the game changes, so I guess it rules out alot of players i.e. all of the customers in Del's Bar!!!
