In Response to Re: Brag: I won a Sky Poker Tourney.... : Nice one Gary (again!). Wonder if anyone has won that many MTT's on here? WP sir Posted by VespaPX
Cheers.
My volume isn't that high; 4153 MTTs entered since I joined Sky 1632 days ago according to Sharkscope, so that's about 2.5 per day. There are probably loads of players out there who've played and won more than me.
Anyway, MTT win #166 for me, of which Bounty Hunter #99.
Spent most of the tournament bumping along as a shortie. Was down to only 6BB at the final table after losing a standard button vs big blind aipf confrontation with four left. Went on a heater from there and eventually came out on top.
Just won my first tourney on sky ( or any platform ). It was a 5.50 sit and go hold em regular. I was heads up with 600 chips with the other player on over 8k chips. I doubled up and outplayed him/her even though they were abusing me in the chat box. Very very chuffed!!!!
Very chuffed to say I just won a BH 1/132. Played great through-out and doubly satisfying because havent played many this year due to me playing cash more and have so far won 3 from about 20 or so and includes a great £120 cash in the £4000 monthly FR so nice to know i've still got it. AND, the reason for me posting. I had less than 1BB after getting outdrawn with 5 left and went on to come back and win!!!
So, the old chip and a chair!!! 3rd time I've done it so never give up!!!!
Not gonna lie, I ran very well in three key pots at the sharp end to win this one. The strongest player in the tournament got second place.
1. Took the chiplead for the first time close to the bubble when my AK won a massive aipf race against 88.
2. When getting short during three-handed play I doubled by jamming my AT from the BB into a button open then getting there to out-draw pocket his KK.
3. When heads-up with a 2/1 lead I got lucky to chop a pot and retain the lead when I found my A9o facing AKs aipf. Two pairs were dealt on the run-out .
Got battered several times when all-in and well ahead in a series of games at £3.30 to £22.00. Then ran like God to ship a puny £2.30 speed game with a tiny field, something I hardly ever enter these days.
#168, and a pleasing landmark; my 100th Bounty Hunter first place finish on Sky Poker.

Thanks it did feel good to beat a field of 340 odd. When it got down to the last 20 i was just focused only on first, the pay jumps wernt of any interest, and 2nd would have been dissapointing, but thankfully i managed it !! woo
My first game after a 48 hour poker break. Iirc (haven't checked) this is my first win in a regular speed £5.75 in 2014. Long overdue, variance has been favouring others in these lately.
A friendly final table played in good spirit. Anybody could have got it to be honest, it was my turn to be the one who flopped well when it mattered the most.
First win for a while so though I would post it to break the Gary/Duck/Gary/Duck trend that seems to happening here lol.....seriously though wd to you both, winning like its going out of fashion!
