I've enjoyed a nice heater lately despite relatively few first places. Near misses include KK<66 aipf when HU to win a £1K gtd Bounty Hunter that had started with over 300 entrants, the villain caught his two-outer on the river.
So it was pleasing to take down this £350 gtd Bounty Hunter today. MTT win #181, BH #109.

The moral of the story in this one was to keep your cool and not blast off your stack when the cards don't seem to be falling your way. I didn't win any all-in situations from behind on my way to victory, but I lost a couple when ahead. This pot didn't go my way in the mid-stages;

The next one came on the final-table bubble. The villain had taken out five opponents so had a juicy bounty on his head.

It's easy to lose your cool and start flinging chips around recklessly after hands like these. But while you've still got a stack you've still got a chance. I just stayed calm, continued to play to the best of my ability and came up trumps.
After making a big fold with AK after a K-high flop to a tight opponents river shove with over half my stack in the middle I spent much of my time at the final table as the short-stack ninja, hovering in the 10-15BB range. My run-good came when I got folds when light and made big holds when ahead and called to move to the top of the leader-board for the first time with four left. Final hand was an AK over KT aipf hold with stacks almost level
Total prize contribution is split equally between the tournament prize pool and player bounties. If you win a bounty you keep 75% with 25% added to your own head value. Late Reg will be open for 40 minutes.
UKOPS side event binkage, £1,000 gtd. re-buy, £6.20 invested.
First time I've ever won a tournament featured in the Tournament Results Thread. I rarely play in any of them because evening tournaments are incompatible with my work hours. I only made an exception for this one because it was a turbo event that started at 7-00pm. Even so it finished just 2.5 hours before I had to get up for work, so I haven't had much sleep.
I ran really well in the late stages. About three big flips went my way and I had to make some big holds, including my pocket TT against K8o aipf in the final hand. With maybe three or four tables left I got super-lucky when I open-jammed my short stack from MP with QJ. I'm satisfied I made the correct play in the circumstances, however I managed to run into poshcole's pocket AA. I luck-boxed a big double-up by making a full-house on the xQQxJ run-out.

thank you, i try to remain modest in these factual posts by keeping the word count moderate.
i am helped in this exacting task by being a mathematician, and thereby more than happy to merely recant the facts in this thread. i don't find it necessary to resort to a lurid spiel involving the unnecessary inference that winning should be in any way correlated with one's ability.

Have had almost no time for MTTs since Saturday due to family commitments. Managed to squeeze one in this morning between finishing work and the school run.
Total prize contribution is split equally between the tournament prize pool and player bounties. If you win a bounty you keep 75% with 25% added to your own head value. Late Reg will be open for 30 minutes. Minimum 3 runners.

The play was correct, the timing was a bit out, that's all....;)
Delighted for you.
