Do you think the other players at the GUKPT event that Richard is representing Team Sky Poker at will think that all their Christmases have come at once?
Also, as a former bookmaker, what odds would you give for him to win?
Thankyou Santa for the incredibly cheeky comments.
Good job I stopped believing in you, way back in 2002.
Right- we have 44 hours to go till transmission time and therefore 44 hours left of the competition.
What competition?
THIS competition...
I'm going to give my free entry to a TSP Classic of your choice to the person who, in my opinion, posts the best (i.e. most original, interesting, thought-provoking or entertaining) question to Neil Channing on this thread.
The question must be posted BEFORE the show starts to be eligible to win and not only will I announce the winner right at the very top of the show at 8 o'clock on Thursday but I'll start the whole broadcast by putting the winner's question to Neil.
Irish Open winner 2008, GUKPT winner, had a big stake in James Akenhead in his WSOP Main Event final table appearance...
The man knows poker and tomorrow night you'll have the opportunity to probe his mind- don't let this opportunity go to waste! It's like a free poker consultation from one of the game's top pros!
Playing a local live game tomorrow but have this sky+'d already. Love Neil's sardonic sense of humour. It's what Hartigan aspires to be :-)
My question for Neil is;
"Many of Sky's players are recreational and, probably, statistically, losing players. However, we all aspire to greatness. What single piece of advice would you give such players to take their game up to an, at minimum, profitable level?"

We will try and get Neil to answer this question tonight, Neil will also we doing a Top Tip for us after the live show which we hope to get out asap.
He's one of those poker players who has no qualms with having a gamble away from the poker tables, almost exclusively through sports betting. Does he have any advice on the gambling mentality in general and how to be as 'healthy' a gambler as possible? (if such a thing as possible).
I am a failry small stakes recreational player that is sick of losing, i normally have a little winning run and then donk off in about 10 minutes, and then BUSTO!!! normally becuase i am chasing loses and on a slight tilt
my question would be do you have any tips on how to approach the mental side of the game, bankroll management and hand selection goes out the window when im all tilty. i think its the cause of most of my losses. that and being a bad player of course
Question for Neil: when he (mistakenly) announced on budget day there could be a 15% tax coming in on gambling winnings how many panicked messages from poker players did he get?
Hi guys, can't wait for the show tonight as Neil has been one of my favourite players since The Big Game III where his laid back dry sense of humour made for very entertaining viewing.
In The Big Game III, Neil was making some big over bets with air and generally playing pretty loose but in games that i've watched him on since then he has played a much tighter style of play.
My question is if Neil has changed from a maniac to a nit, what was the thinking behind it and has it improved his results?
Also, in The Big Game IV, Neil came up against the wild and crazy play of Viffer who pretty much owned the table.
Does Neil like or dislike playing against this sort of player who can have any two cards and will be making lots of raises, and how would he recommend playing against this style?
Does wearing a Judo suit chafe if your sitting down for a long session of poker ? I ask this as I'm currently doing jujitsu down my local leisure centre and I want to go straight to the casino to play in one of the cash games.
1) Are you going to be playing a tourney on sky like other guests have done? 2) When you have played your long cash games how do you keep with it so to speak? do you drink alot of energy drinks to get you through it, also how do you prepare your mindset for the long grind?
Hi folks Q for Neil As poker players tend to be mad as a bag of frogs at the best of times doing things like dying their hair blonde for promotion purposes "TK" , to wearing judo suits . What's the best prop bet you have seen & and has anyone ever said NO that's to mad ? Details please .

That was a brilliant game and included that hand - Viffer's set of 8s vs Neil's set of 4s - Neil opted to run it once and spiked the last 4, much to the annoyance of Viffer. MBN.
Have a great show tonight. Really looking forward to it :-)

Hello young Mr Orford!

We filming one bit of advice from him last summer, which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/user/SkyPokerChannel#p/u/48/gcpO75jt-RE
Plus there are loads of other Top Tips from the Pro's
Thanks
My question is regarding the "Big game" that Neil has played in a few times. I note that Neil has played the full (or near to) 48 hrs each time.
How do you prepare yourself physically and mentally to play such a high stakes cash game for 48 hours solid and still turn a profit?
Also what is Neil's favourite Vegas game?

1) Who is the worst player you have ever staked?
2) Out of 10, how much do you enjoy wearing the Karate outfit when you play for Black Belt?
Cheers,
Nick
