S-U-R-V-I-V-O-R has arrived!

All being well - fingers crossed - Sky Poker "SURVIVOR" starts tomorrow.

Should be terrific fun, it's cheap & cheerful, you get up to SIX different chances to enter, & win.

This will take a bit of explaining, & I'm not a up to speed on it as I'd like to be, but the gist of it will be explained in the next few Posts.

    How much to enter?

A quid. £1. That's it. No Reg fee, either. One quid, netto.

There will be SIX different Survivor Series - one each every.....

    Monday

    Tuesday

    Wednesday

    Friday

    Saturday

    Sunday

So if you wanted to enter ALL SIX, it would cost you £6. Exactly. Not a penny more, not a penny less.

If you only want to play 1 of them, fine, the bill is 100 pence, one quid.

    How does it work?

What it says on the tin, really.

You enter any (or all) of the 6 "Survivor" Tourneys.

Once HALF the field have been eliminated, the Tourney stops. And resumes on the same night one week later, when it starts again. (No further Entry Fee required, the quid is for the whole Survivor Series).

Rinse repeat, the Tourney STOPS when HALF the remaining field have gone busto.

And so on, until week 6.

By then, there will be just SIX players left in each of the Survivor Series.

And so those six players play down to ONE player.

And in week seven, the winners of EACH of the six SURVIVOR Series will meet in a Grand Final. And share out lots of money. AND Prizes on top of the money - including SPT Grand Final Seat, £220 Biggie Seat, a regular SPT Seat, da de da.

The Series has a £2,500 GUARANTEE, PLUS Added Value.

How is the money dished out?

The SIX Finalists in Week Seven will get.....

WINNER - £1,000, PLUS an SPT Grand Final Seat, Value £220.

    2nd - £600, PLUS a Sky Sports Double Stack seat, value £220.

    3rd - £400, PLUS a seat to Cardiff SPT, Value £110.

    4th - £250, PLUS a seat to PRIMO, worth £55

    5th - £150, PLUS a seat to PRIMO, worth £55

    6th - £100, PLUS a seat to PRIMO, worth £55.

What if you qualify TWICE? Because you could.

Well, in the FINAL, you would get a DOUBLE starting stack.

In the GRAND FINAL, when the Blinds will increase every 15 minutes.

Very interesting. So obviously, if half are eliminated each week and week 6 is 6 players, the tournies will be capped in week 1 at , i think, 192 runners. Or is it unlimited to start and week 5 just plays down to 6 players ?

Once again though an excellent idea and again giving back to the customer.  Well done Sky.

When the tourny stops and re-starts the next week, I assume the stacks will be re-set, blinds start at 10/20 again?

Anyone googling 500+ runner dym strategy?  ;)

Excellent question, & I was dreading - sorry, I mean hoping - you would ask that.

In short, "no", because Week 5 can, & will, ALWAYS play down to 6 players.

    So, two hypothetical scenarios.

    Assume....

    500 runners.                                 750 runners

Week 1 - play down to 250.            Play down to 375

Week 2 - play down to 125             Play down to 188

Week 3 - play down to 63               Play down to 94

Week 4 - play down to 32               Play down to 47

Week 5 - play down to 6                Play down to 6

Is that any clearer? Sorry, my bad, I did not really explain that properly/very well first time round.

So now you need to consider "tactics", & "strategy".

In effect, in weeks 1 to 4 inclusive, you ONLY have to survive half the field. That's it, you get nothing extra if (assuming, say, 500 runners week 1) for finishing 1st, or 250th.

But it all changes in week 5, when you are "only" playing for SIX spots.

And in week 6, each "series" is now trying to win a SNG.

And in week 7, everyone is trying to win, but ALL Week 7 Finalists will get something.

And don't forget, there are SIX chances to make that Final.

A quid a pop, no Reg Fee.

Even Mr & Mrs Minnie can't complain at that. Can they?......

sounds like a great event.  nice one Sky.

Give them time, they never fail!

But it matters not, a quid a go, no reg fee, a £2,500 Guarantee no matter what, PLUS Added Value.

    What's not to like?

I think this'll be terrific fun.

Will the TKP Crew try & dominate it? Or the DTD Boys? What about the aggro regs, the Hursty's, & the Dohhh's? Even the dreaded Solack?

    My tip to do well?

I'd watch out for the wily old veterans, the Dollies & the Direwolf's.
