I started at nl4 playing cash just before xmas - I knew I could beat the games but that wasn't the point, I wanted to build a roll. I think it's important to actually build a base, should you go straight to nl10/20 there's a strong chance you might have to reload, and that would really dampen your enthusiasm for this little challenge.

Actually seeing your balance rise through hard work and knowing your not just 'spinning up' with a few BIs for each level is really rewarding. Celebrate with a drink when you make your milestones!

The stats tell their own story. A very sad one. Two of the micies have passed on to eat from the cheese in the sky.
 Despite our best efforts, one died during the night (there was one looking a little lifeless during the day, though he perked up a bit- was probably him) and then another one in the middle of the day. Must admit I'm a little gutted by it. But, of the three remaining, at least two seem quite lively and, maybe, have a hope of survival. After reading a lot online I'm not optimistic- seems their chances of survival without their mother are very slim. But, I'll give it my best shot. Right now, if I can even keep one alive- that'll be a success in my book.
Needless to say, between this, work, a comedy night (which was really, really excellent- check out Inder Manocha if you can, fantastic comic) and an impromptu gig (playing old Deep Purple numbers I've never heard before- yay me) I didn't have a great deal of time for poker. I managed to fit an hour or two in 3 tabling, and turned a profit- but I wish I hadn't, because I played like a complete tool. I turned a profit, which is a relief, but I didn't deserve too and sucked out way more than I usually do (in cash at this limit I very, very rarely get my money in behind, and when I do- they're generally epic coolers. This was just horrible, fishlike play which got rewarded by hitting. Embarrassed.com.)
Any profit is a good profit though, and hopefully over the next 3 days I'll have more time to really put some hours in. Not really any standout hands this time round (biggest hand won or lost was £2.22 to me) so not posting up hands this time round. Probably make up for it now when I have some real amount of time dished out. 
I really hope I can keep these mice alive another day at least. I would have uploaded pics but they're too large and I dunno how to resize them cos I'm thick.

Through the night, managed to keep the mice fine. Energetic, rolling about, drinking. Fed them about half nine this morning, still ok- went to feed them again around half eleven, and two have died, with the third looking extremely lifeless and barely responding to food.

Really, really upset now I feel responsible now for killing them. Even though they would have died out there on their own anyway.

That was fine, a dozen hands later or so I lost another buyin with 9s, which I was less than happy about. Convinced myself it was donk overplaying AK, and I was wrong as wrong could be. Very annoyed with myself for playing like an idiot, and realised I was a tad tilted and chasing losses. Not good.

Started to figure out what was going on, and had the fortune to sit at the table of someone intent on giving their money away- which resulted in me making an absolute killing. He donated around 3/4 buyins alone to me, making my job of rebuilding just that tad easier. The first one is by far my favourite. Having seen how he plays, the second one was surprisingly strong- I thought my K and 9 were probably live, and it wasn't beyond the realms of possibility I was actually ahead at that point. Third hand was another standard occurrence. It might have looked like a loose call, but the implied odds with this guy were so massive- if you flop a big hand, the chances of getting paid were monumental. A single bb to see a flop was very worth it.

Lol. On the surface, a bit of an implosion. But after the week I've had, which has been long anyway and doubly so with the 24/7 mousecare, I decided to just have a bit of fun at the tables when someone suggested some forum cash action. One 10 seater (which was quite a tight table) and one 6 seater (which was... considerably less tight).

Because the 10 seater was playing so tight, Booni suggested a little spice. Such as a multiway allin preflop. Me being in quite the jovial mood was all for it- and so were a few others, which is always fun. I got dealt monsters in both the allin hands we played- shame they didn't hold up though

So there went 2 buyins straight away. The next hand at least was interesting- obviously the table dynamic was pretty mental (we enforced a mandatory straddle, with a double straddle next orbit penalty if you forget, which happened a lot) and the betting was pretty wild preflop. So when YG made this shove, I made the call knowing there was a chance I was actually ahead. I took some time, thought out the decision and decided the chances of me drawing just to a queen were very slim, my ace was very likely live and there was a good chance of my jack being live too. Added to which was the reasonable possibility of him having JQ with the amount already invested made the call worthwhile (although we were playing hyper aggro for fun, no sense in making it a pointless shovefest!). Thankfully, my reasoning proved sound- not so thankfully, he hit.

I also successfully pulled off a nice bluff against dohhh, who said he folded AQ- it says a lot about the dynamics that he was very seriously considering calling, thinking he was ahead. I read him for overs and thought he'd put it down, but it was still a bit of a sweat. ^^

I'm actually quite pleased I ended up over my starting roll. By the time we finished playing our fun cash, my roll was down to 90- so I made the decision that, fun as it was, I was missing out on valuable grinding time against considerably easier players, so went off and managed to get together enough pots to go back over 100. Back to square 1, and totally bodged my br management- but had a **** good laugh so that's good enough for me! Had some really sick coolers against fish (flopped straight busted by higher gutshot on river, flush beaten by house etc) so I'm not too bothered. If I went out on a friday night, like I normally would, I'd have lost a whole heap more than £30 so it's not all bad ^^

Tried playing 6 tables today for the first time. Surprisingly, went really well actually- was able to focus entirely on the action, never got bored waiting for hands (a real killer for me) and generally played well. Unfortunately, I ran like an absolute horror and walked into cooler after cooler, with general bad beats thrown in. To be honest, I consider any time you get TPTK and someone has better a cooler at this stage, some of the plays may look a tad over aggressive but the same players have made the same plays with 2nd/3rd pair, or top pair no kicker, so I'm pretty sure that it's correct play. Some (like the K high flush and Js full of 10s) are about as sick as you get and you're never getting off them, even at higher limits.

So, I ended up down, but considering the amount I lost with these sicko hands it really could have been worse- glad I was playing a decent game. Decided to get out after the last couple of hands before I start to tilt.
