HI,

Fairly new to site & poker (4/5 months)  REALLY enjoying it so far on an ever diminishing bankroll!
I've been reading the community a fair bit and there are some abbreviations I can't work out or am confused with...

NL4 - (i know nl is No Limit but what does the 4 mean)
PLO8 - (I know plo = pot limit omaha)
HJ - I think this is a position?
CO - I know this is cut off - but does it mean the position before the btn?
FTW - no idea

There was another one which I forgot to note down i think it was FYP?

TIA

    Nl4 - shows blind level - in this case 2p/4p, NL50 would be 25p/50p
    FYP - Fixed your post
    PLO8 - I think is Omaha Hi-Lo (no idea why)
    FTW - For the win
    Cut-off - is button -1
    TIA - thanks in advance - a guess dont know really

    number after nl means the buy in, 100BB, so 4NL is holdem with 0.02/0.04 blinds
    PLO8= Pot limit Omaha Eight, which is Omaha hi lo, pot is split between hi and lo and, lo must be 8 hi or better to count
    HJ= hijack, position before cut off
    CO= cut off, position beefore button
    FTW= for the win
    FYP= fixed your post

    Thanks for that. Another related Q, If in NL4 the blinds are 4p does that mean the most or least you can bring to the table is £4?  Obvs I've only played DYM's and a few MTT's but have been looking at the cash tables as a variation, hence my lack of knowledge but curiosity.

    Yes, on nearly all tables the maximum you can bring to the tables is 100 Big Blinds.

    There are a few exceptions, Mastercash tables it is 200 Big Blinds and there are a few deep stacked cash tables about.

    MEH doesn't really stand for anything I don't think.. Just a word people use that sort of means whatever or oh well, may be corrected though. FYP does stand for Fixed Your Post, it's when you may have made a mistake and someone has edited your post. Or could be done for comic effect, or at least an attempt at humour haha.

    Never heard of EEHAWWS, thought that's what sound donkeys made.
