Having qualification only on the 5 legs, makes the tour more inclusive to sky players. Yes anyone can set up an account and do a satelite, but that will hopefully encourage them to then carry on, on sky. Last year only the main event was buyin only, the 5 legs were satelite only same as this year. I like the satelite only, as it limits the amount of "outsiders" playing and you get a chance to see the people you play everyday live face to face. Posted by FlashFlush
i get what you saying but if someone off sky poker who plays regulary that wants to play the event but doesnt qualify, why should he miss out if the person isnt good enough or as had some bad luck trying to qualify?

I feel there is enough time/seats for everyone who REALLY wants to go to get a seat. The satelites go up at least a month in advance, and with on average 5 seats going a night and 125 seats available thats 25 satelites they have the option to go for... I get your point, I dont think this is to "filter the players" at all, I think its to stop randoms entering who dont play on sky and to stop the seats going within a day. (APAT seats go on sale at 9pm on a certain evening, by 9.02 they are sold out)

once again i agree with what you are saying, apart from the filter the players bit... sky advertise there poker as a friendly fun easy site which is very true, but it seems to me that if your not a good player and want to play the event for just pure fun or something to do thats weekend then you carnt. im having a crack tomoz to qualifying for the event but im just talking in general about some people on this site that might think that this way is unfair!

At the end of the day it is a £100 tourney.. I doubt someone looking for "something to do for the weekend" would spend that on a tournament... then there is the travel and hotel etc..
Good luck with your qualifier, hope you get through... see you in Manchester :-)

They are running fun sit n gos etc at the venue so there will be something for just the fun player, I doubt I have the bankroll to qualify but I will be there whatever to support the regulars and enjoy the atmosphere.

Hi I think that the opposite is the case, if anything the qualifing system encourages the "lesser" players to take part, in, what is an expensive tournament for a lot of people. How can i say this? Well if we look at last year there was a good percentage of the field were first timers into a live poker game. In answer to Solar. at the moment i only have a small bankroll but it cost me £30 to qualify and that includes £24 straight into a semi final. The way to do it if your on a limited BH, is to do the lowest level qualifiers £2.40.
Is it a 5k starting stack for the first legs, I thought it would be more than that Posted by OMahonyO
Yes it is. Identical structure to the legs last year.
Of course many would love more chips (and some fewer chips!) but this is a one day tournament, and has to be structured to finish in time, hence it can't play too "deep"
Im sure i saw somewhere that you can buy straight in for £110, where is it in the lobby for the actualy tournament where the qualified members are listed...link pls

Hi Burn,
No, it has always been clearly stated that for Legs 1 to 5, Seats are ONLY obtainable by Online Qualification, except for 5 Seats (in the case of Leg One) which have been allocated to the Casino for a Live Super-Sat. (See seperate Thread on this Board for info on the Live Super Sat).
To see the list of qualifiers, go to the MTT Lobby, UNTICK THE "SHOW REGISTERING BOX" at the bottom of the Lobby, & the Event is shown in the "Greyed Out" section at the top of the Lobby. There is alo a Thread in this Board which is updated daily to list all those who have qualified.
In Response to Re: Manchester Qualifiers so far are........ : The Main Event willl start at 2pm, finishing time is estimated to be between Midnight & 1am. I would imagine SNG's will continue well into the early hours! Posted by Tikay10
