Good to see your on the road to recovery jj. Don't rush it and see you back playing when your able. P.S. you missed spornys return to Sky popker. (You know that one he said would never happen lol)
When i'm playing an MTT, i start off fine get going along, then have to see what the ave stack is or if i'm near chip lead, then look at how many players there is and what postion cash starts at. When i do cash it's normally a min cash..
The question is do you think i'm taking too much notice of the lobby and should i just keep playing my game and not bother with the lobby and where cash starts, therefore not letting it effect my play(which i think it is doing)?
In Response to Re: Official - TPT (Team Poker Titans) Tribulations & Cashes : Oh that's the shortened version. The full version is " The TPT Private Game That Sky Can Never Get Right Once A Month Even Though they Can Run 500 Games A Week With No **** Ups and special music by Fairport Convention with the B side of the early single called Sir B. McKenzie's Daughter's Lament For The 77th Mounted Lancer's Retreat From The Straits Of Loch Knombe, In The Year Of Our Lord 1727, On The Occasion Of The Announcement Of Her Marriage To The Laird Of Kinleakie". But they may have trouble fitting that in the lobby so i went for the shorter version. Posted by FlyingDagg
That def won't fit in the lobby, plus i think they'd spell kinleakie wrong lol....

Hmm i think different people do different things and i suppose it depends on how confident you are in your own play, most the time when im playing im happy to just cash and make a small profit if i can i dont feel i have the game to take these things down often enough yet so i like to keep check of the lobby, try and judge how many chips i need to have to cash and then try and target weaker players to get these chips from, but i guess stronger lplayers will just carry on playing and not pay as much attention to it as they are probably expecting to cash anyway. i may be wrong though thats just what i think
Nice cashes TPTers, not been on much in past week, due to sorting out insurance mess from my car crash last week. Nothing serious, just need a new left-side makover to me car. **** truck pulled out into me as I was overtaking him, t'wat.

I think it depends how soon you are looking at the standings. I keep an eye on my position throughout the game but I won't actually get the lobby up until the last 30 if 20 are paid. If 10 are paid it's the last 20 etc. I aim to try and stay above average stack by nicking a few blinds here and there. I remember Ian Frazer on 865 saying that when he plays online he ALWAYS gets the lobby up to keep ahead of average stack, as you have to know where you lie in relation to other players. In your case it depends on how it is affecting your play. Without giving too much away more aggression is always called for in later stages.

i was the perennial min-casher, scraping in with ultra-low stacks. What changed it for me was getting more value into my pots THROUGHOUT the tournament. Adjusting betting patterns and amounts to get some more chips in every hand possible - maybe don't min cash as frequently as before but more likely to run deep.
so have a look at your betting throughout - maybe you are too quick to close down the action - or whatever. Just that it might not be your immediate pre-bubble play that needs adjusting.
wasn't meant to play last night - but last forum post i read last night before going to sleep was IDCU's suggestion for a quick forum game - couldn't say no, could I - and glad I didn't as well as it was a great game with great banter, steel on the rail - and not a bad result either in game #1, and wp IDCU for your 2nd in #2. Needed some decent cards against that opposition, but luckily got them when I needed them.

I rarely look at the lobby in the early stages anymore as it tends to put me off. I do however, open the lobby a few players before the bubble and do my best to nick blinds during that period as I know a lot of players will be tightening up to try and make the cash - So thats the best time to take advantage imo.
When you are approximately 8-10 Players from the bubble.....(Dependent on tourney size)
1. Avoid the bigstack at all costs. (They have a big advantage against you and are the most likely to put your tourney at risk)
2. Avoid the shallow stacks. (They are the most likely to get it all-in looking for a double-up, and you potentially leak chips by calling)
3. Attack the medium size stacks (They are the most likely to tighten up towards the bubble and you can use this to your advantage)
Obviously your position relative to the medium size stacks can play a huge part in deciding your fate. We don't want to be trying to attack a medium stack if there is still a bigstack to react after us, so keep that in mind.
GELDY has the best solution to resolve bubble problems and min cashes and that to look at how we play our pots in the earlier stages. If we can inflate pots, without scaring off the opposion too quickly then we will have a decent stack in the latter stages and won't have to worry too much about the bubble.
TPT PRIVATE GAME 5th December Game is now in lobby and open for registration. You may invite 1 guest of your choice. Owing to the fact that you can't address a pm to more than 50 recipients I had to miss a few off but I missed off the regs so you don't really need the pm. Password is the same.
