Two break even sessions in a row, although once again the variance put pay to that, first AKs v A4, flop I have overs and FD B/C they have a pair and hold. Next a proper goody, 10 handed table I 3bet pre big w/KK flop AK2 get it in against 22 (91% fave) and end up splitting as board full flushes....

    Start BR - £290.54

    Session - £0.08

    Current BR - £415.44

In Response to Re: *****OCTOBER PROFIT CHALLENGE THREAD***** : What is your biggest single win in a day? And if you don't mind telling.. your biggest losing day? As a low stakes player it's pretty interesting seeing how swingy even the best players can be at times.

Hi mate. biggest single win on one day was $37k in a mtt on a different site about 2-3 years ago.

Thanks for the "even the best players" quote aswell mate but in no way do i think im one of the best players on site and i often avoid tables were there are players who i think are head and tail better than me sitting, but i think it is Neil Channing who says in one of his top tips "you dont have to be the best to be a winner at this game" you just have to take on the players you feel are worse than yourself.

On cash tables ive made about £4k in a day before and prob lost about the same but that was playing higher limits than i play here, on here ive only really been playing seriously for the last 2 months so most of my profits and losses per day are wrote on the last 2 profit threads and also i wouldnt really class myself as a high stakes player as the limits i play on here only look big compared to the majority of the other tables that are running on site, my previous site any games with a sit down of between $200 and $1000 were classed as medium stakes and high stakes games were anything from $10/$20nl and above.

I like playing on sky poker, its a real community based site and i like the fact that its all british players and there are no hyper aggro scandis to deal with (although i do miss the italians and cypriots :) ) but the serial button raisers on this site do become a pain in the @ss from time to time :)

Also its good to play in £ and not $ so you can actually see where you are at all times cash wise.

BTW mate, i know you only play low stakes at the mo but ive seen you on other threads asking questions etc and imo its only a matter of time before you start playing higher and doing well because your doing all the right things to improve yourself at the game.

Good luck at the tables. Dave.

In Response to Re: *****OCTOBER PROFIT CHALLENGE THREAD***** : Decent day, played mostly ok, except when I should've folded KKxx to a re-raise and 2 calls on an AKx flop. Won 1 PLO8 and min-cashed another + a £20gtd PLO. For my daily moan, in the PLO8 I min-cashed I got good aces twice when very short-stacked and lost both times ... to 2 pairs QQ33. Clearly rigged! :) 3 cashes out of 5, daily balance +£2.80, MTD balance +£99.84.

Another steady day, I'm cashing at a good rate, but at the moment more often than not I'm outlasting other short stacks for min-cashes rather than building stacks that allow me to go for the win. Unfortunately I didn't run well at all in the £1k gtd, so decided to go for damage limitation and didn't rebuy or addon. In addition to the £1k I failed to cash in the £3.30 PLO but min-cashed both £5.50 PLO.

2 cashes out of 4, daily balance £3.45, MTD balance £103.29.

Don't seem to be getting anywhere at the moment.  Lost 50bb when got shoved on, they have AA, I have AK.  Then lose another 50bb with lunatic going all in every hand, I go in with A7, they show 86, 8 on the flop... wouldn't mind but then they stand. FML.

As what normally happens 1 bad day is followed by a good one.

Played alot of cash during the course of today and for once can only remember 1 badbeat where i floped a set of 6s v a guy i know wont fold a overpair with a gun to his head and when the cards went on there backs he was holding QQ on a J high flop only for me to see the miracle Q hit the turn lol but when you play as much as i have today you would settle for 1 beat like that in a full day anytime :)

Played main MTT and bust out midway through.

Cash games on day = +£637.29
    MTTs on day = -£22

    Months running total = +£2902.52

    Good luck all. Dave.

Now off to find the drunks lol

Messy session last night. No big hands either way, biggest loss was £1.46, but one of those nights when I if raise with AA  everyone folds, if I raise with a hand towards the lower end of my range I got 5 callers and missed the flop. 3 betting AK didn't go any better.

Had one gem of a hand where I 3 bet AK big pre, 2/3 pot C bet in position against one villain and got called. He then shoved his last 20p on the turn. He'd called pre with 32os, had bottom pair on the flop and rivered trips. Good job he was shortish stacked.

    Session loss £7.51

    Account £142.05

I'm going to have to watch you play 1 day, and see how you do it. I watch loads of poker and honestly can't remember ever watching a table with you on.

....Or maybe I have and u just didn't do anything so didn't notice you? ;)

Strange session felt as if it went quite well tbh despite finishing down just slightly, main hand was early on limped pot 4-way me K9, flop top2pr facing bet, I raise then get flatted and raised behind (pound signs ringing) I make it big and snap AI, one has bottom set other FD, shorty has set but biggy has FD and hits gg. Only other 20bb pot raise w/KJ flop TPGK call 3 donk bets guy has AJ nh.

Thanks for the answer :) I'm currently trying to rise through the DYM levels but will eventually take a shot at cash as that is where the real money is, and the Channing quote is very true.

Even if you're not one of the best on the site, you're definitely the best to post regualarly in these threads.

    Run well :)

Today I had my best day ever at the tables. I've had more profitable days twice before when I had 3 figure scores in 1 MTT, but looking at playing well, running well and cashing consistently today was outstanding. I won the first 6 of the 8 bounty hunters I played during the day and then in the evening I won 2 of the £20gtd and bubbled the third, and there were a few more minor cashes in between. While I do think I played well all day I also realise that I needed a lot of good luck to achieve today's results. Maybe I'll remember today the next time I'm about to moan about variance. Probably not.

12 cashes out of 14, daily balance +£67.26, MTD balance +£170.55. I'm also up to #4 in the MTT league.
