Why won't he play me?

I've had a couple of beers tonight (only two), and for some daft reason I thought I'd have a heads up game against Redmond Lee. Yes, I know, before you say anything, he's outta my league.

4 times I tried and each time he wouldn't play me!
Why?
He's light years ahead of me. Why wouldn't he do it?

I'm genuinely confused. I expected to lose my money but it's like paying for lessons.

Why did he refuse all these offers to take my cash? {And it's definitely NOT because I'm a threat to him LOL}

What's going on?

Yes I can afford it and yes I'm a random to him. It's most likely that he was having his dinner at the time. Hope the beast doesn't stalk me from now on...

I dont think so , its hu and prob 1-3 games so imo there would be hardly any edge in it at all.

Obv over a much bigger period of games then reds would prob get the best of it.

I disagree Mrs Dobs, any reasonable random even myself if you play Redmond HU you can expect to lose 90% time and the times you do win are variance :)

I know he's good but some peeps give him too much credit. Here's how it should go -
    Ac As "hmmm nice".
Flop -  AdAh3d "check just call the bluff/draw".
Turn- Kd check "All in ?? I knew it i bet he's got 2&3 spades as well ! OK its the flush TJd but still I've manged to stack him.
And a Q on the turn ............ oh is that a diamond..............CONNECTION LOST

im with young gun here. I rekon HU is a pure game of skill. Many people state to discover the best poker player ever each player would have to play HU with their own money on a best out of x amount of games.

I rekon v most players on sky Reds would comfortably win. I do rate him as a player. but can you think of anyone on sky with his level of card playing experiance? Taking his age into account.

i think sparce is far better then reds i think there quite alot better then reds on this site i think lol raise is better then redmond lee

Have you got any proof? it depends on what game, also ive not seen Sparce play hu much so cant really comment on that. Redmond did say i think that 1 person he will not play i think that maybe sparce but maybe cos he thinks there equal and not worth it with rake.

Just interested why u think there are better players, obviously its about opinions but have u seen him lose much to any of the ones you think are better? preferably heads up as this is what we are talking about

The only way you would beat any cash player at that level HU is to pick up good cards.

They would just run over you, if you think otherwise than your just naïve.

i have seen sparce playback a couple of yrs ago and the guy is THE most aggro player i have ever seen. very tom dwan. personally i very much doubt they would play each other, why would they want to?

rancid its heads up its not about the cards its about aggression and playing fearless

I didn't say that, you have no edge - so you would need cards and at best take flips AIPR or on the flop
It's not about the cards, it's about pressure - they would either run over you or on the reverse pull you in with the weaker holding
You would not have a clue what is going on )
