If you are driving up from London on the Saturday, leave at LEAST 2 hours earlier than you need to.

The M1 &, particularly, the M6 are a nightmare on a Saturday, & that's before you even reach the Manchester traffic.

Iv done the wise thing and taken a half day on Friday, leaving at around 1.30 hopefully (probably more like 2). Idea is to get there plenty of time to relax have a meal and play the evening game.

Google says 3.5 hours for me but going to leave 5 hours... going to be a fun drive zZzZzZ

Dependent on where you are, it might be a lot easier for you to take the M40/M42/M6 Toll then the M6 to avoid all the roadworks on the M1.

We set off at 19.00hrs. on Thursday 5th Nov via Northlink ferry from Lerwick to Aberdeen, arrive 7.30hrs on Friday 6th. collected from the ferry terminal by Arnold Clark Car Hire and in the most reasonably priced car they have head off for the deep south.

Hope to arrive late afternoon in Manchester at the Park Inn Hotel, would love to have a couple of pints and a wee game in the Casino on Friday night (just to get my eyes focused under electric lights) anyone like to meetup for a chat and beer like to see you there.

I'm bringing my good lady for the shopping not the poker, if any of you guys are bringing your partners and they need a shopping companion i have one.

    Looking forward to this tour.

Hi - I'm not able to go - can you put my seat back in the mix for someone else or will I just be blinded out?
