hi Gary, well done again mate, enjoy a couple of days rest. if you still fancy going for a pint sometime that would be nice, even if it's just the 1. i'm no great drinker but i'm sure i could manage 1.send me a pm if you do. have you celebrated with that bottle of champagne yet? best wishes ian, aka dev Posted by devonfish5
Yeah, I defo want to do that Ian. I don't care who finished first; I'll still be buying you a pint anyway because I'm so impressed by your grind.
I've decided to drink the champagne on Monday, which is my birthday, a double celebration. Funnily enough I'm doing my annual giving up of booze for 99 days birthday to Christmas, starting after Monday. The best time to meet up for a pint for me is Sunday evening, otherwise it'll have to wait until after Christmas. Send me a PM here if you can make Sunday, if not we'll sort something else out. Include an e-mail address or phone number for me to reply to because although I can read PMs here I can't send them
congrats m8 always knew you could do it most inspirational part though was the time when the balance was stagnating but your confidence/non-tilt attitude didn't well done again
whoooooohoooooooo welldone Gary superb effort and lots of hard work that others should follow if they wanna be successful and as diceplined as you have been. Really chuffed you made it bud. I think dev is well on his way now too! your both inspirational to the game and the low stakes grinders. Now breathhhhhhhhhhhh lol.
What are you going to do now keep building on it and set yourself another target or just enjoy the money you have so deservedly earned?
Well done (I suppose) mate.....more luck than skill IMO!
Oh....it is still your round! I went Langtrys tonight and they said you were the tightest customer they had ever seen in there....bit like your poker really!

hi Gary, yes m8,sunday is fine 4me. i'll send you a pm later as i'm off to work now. looking forward to meeting up and i'm buying as that was our little friendly side bet. have a good day. dev
Hi Gary, again VWD! I've gotta a couple of questions re challenge. 1. Have you learnt much about your game and have you changed it much? e.g. leaks. 2. I know you are predominantly a MTT player but do you plan having a go at anything else? e.g. cash. 3. When you started the challenge did YOU have any idea how long it might take you? i.e. Did it take longer or shorter? Enjoy the weekend! Posted by Glenelg
Cheers guys, thank-you very much.
1. It's hard to say. Before starting I was always trying to improve my game by reading books, watching videos and studying strategy forums like The Poker Clinic, all things I continued to do this as normal during the quest. So my game probably did improve slightly during the qusest, though whether it's a result of the quest or not is hard to say. Undoubtedly it taught me and many readers that a strict BRM regime works.
2. No, I love MTTs and find cash games a bit of a bore, so I don't see myself changing any time soon. Even if there's potentially more money to be made at the cash tables it still doesn't attract me, I'm a recreational player, I play for fun player and MTTs are what I enjoy the most. I have high respect for cash players, the top guys in that field are the best in the game in my opinion, but 'horses for courses'; I'll be sticking to MTTs.
3. I had no idea how long it would take, I estimated 'many months' in the OP, I think 8 months ties in quite well with that. DEL560 is a very wise man, and he guessed within 2 days. At times I was frustrated with slow progress, the run of 31x £5.75 BH final tables without a single win denied me an earlier finish, though now it's over I'm very happy. It was ironic that my final game turned out to be a £5.75 BH, with that seemingly impossible win finally arriving at my 32nd £5.75 final table attempt.
Superb achievement backed up with an excellent diary and self analysis, very well done!
Your experience has certainly given me food for thought regarding my own approach to the game and how I set and possibly reach my personal goals in poker.

Incredible endurance & persistence Gary, very well done.
Endeavour, effort, enthusiasm & energy beats genius all day long, with enthusiasm being the mother of effort.
Those are great attributes, far greater than natural skill.
Well done gary great thread kept up with it most days enjoyed our occasional battles in the bounty hunters. Enjoy vegas youve earned it.
Your experience has certainly given me food for thought regarding my own approach to the game and how I set and possibly reach my personal goals in poker.
Superb effort Gary, I'm sure this will inspire a lot more players to maintain impeccable Bankroll Management in sticking to the plan.
Massive respect
Good luck in your next venture
